I just love that young people are still making jam. When i used to make mine, I melted just plain wax and when the jam cooled. I covered it with a thin layer of wax. It completely seals the jam, and you never have to worry about your seal. When you're ready to use the jam, the wax just comes right off easily, and it keeps the jam for a very long time. I love your videos. ❤

Wipe the rims before putting the lids on and don't stack on top of each other to ensure you don't get a false seal.

The sound of those strawberries snapping off the plant is like music to my ears Lol 💕 I love strawberries ❤🍓

That's a good lot of berries. They are lovely. It's very satisfying to make fruit preserves. Even when camping I enjoy using my favorite pie plates and old fashioned mason jars. Ruby has captivating eyes. She really loves you.

As someone with a big giant kitchen who hates to cook, I love to watch your videos, and all of the things that you can create in such a small space. Your van is so cozy and and looks so comfortable. Enjoy your strawberries. Everything looks so delicious.

If you set the jars upside down while they are freshly filled and hot, it will help them seal

I’ve never heard of biscuits for strawberry shortcake, we have always used the small sponge cakes. They sell them in a package at the supermarket.

I guess it can be made both ways, but growing up my mom always used homemade biscuits to make it. I’ll have to try it with sponge cake sometime- it means more strawberry shortcake! 🍓🍰 😊

I was told to always wipe the tips with a cloth with vinegar and then put covers on and don't fill bottles to the very top, your jam looks delicious!!!

For a really great gluten free biscuit use gluten free bisquick mix and pour in heavy whipping cream and stir fast ..no recipe..just use more hw cream than bisquick mix. Bake 450 in greased pan..so good. I make them all the time

King Arthur's gluten free flours are my favorite. That dessert looks delicious! Enjoy and stay safe, dear.

Strawberry 🍓 jam in your van - 🍓 it! Pop, pop, pop. My mother's 🍓 Shortcake was a white cake with the sweetened 🍓 🍓 over the top. Enjoy yours. Looks yummy. P.s. Hope you're venting when running your stove so long.

Rmembering back on my mom canning, after filling the jars, you wipe the rims (for a good seal) then boil them and they seal as they cool.

Now that’s how you make strawberry shortcake!!!!!!! ❤️🍓😍

jamming in your van 😂🤣 next time - if you had a cookie sheet or fair size tray to place your jars on while you fill them - you’d at least keep any mess off your counter - might be easier to clean up🤞am a Bobs Red Mill gal - their GF pancake mix and their GF muffin mix are 10 outta 10 and well worth a try - saw you had their 1 to 1 flour substitute - always have some 1 to 1 in the pantry but love the consistency of their mixes after 6 or 7 yrs of trying to adapt wheat recipes - a local Italian baker 🇨🇦 specializes “a GF loaf cake” (it’s a cross between angel food cake and pound cake) this is what I use with fresh berries - saves some baking in summer - thnx for showing that jamming is possible in a van kitchen 🇨🇦🙏

Years ago....I used to macerate sliced strawberries the night before pancakes. I added a healthy tablespoon of Grand Marnier...a little sugar and a few tablespoons of water. So delicious. 🍓

Just a suggestion but maybe try putting your oven rack up one more notch, the bottom of your cooking won't get cook fast and get dark or burnt. That's one cool oven!!!

That is such a pretty cooking pot! And the berries looked so shiny in the field. I used to make gluten free biscuits a lot from scratch, it's not hard, and you can make really nice cinnabun type things with it.

Try putting the self higher in your oven thing it would work better.

Yummy!! I love strawberry shortcake and make it using biscuits. I add a little sugar to my biscuit dough, probably one tablespoon per cup of flour. I don’t measure so I’m just guessing. Looking forward to more strawberry recipes!
