Just in case you decide to stay here again, horses are great judges of character. If a horse approaches you, that means they feel comfortable to do so. These horses were happy to see you. Sticking their face over the fence, he was looking for some love. The reason they turn their head to the side when you go to pet them is because they want a better look at you. There is kind of a blind spot when they look at you straight on. If their ears are forward, they are just curious, not angry or annoyed and probably just looking to say hi. If their ears are back, or they rear up on their hind legs, or back away from you, then best to just leave them be. Glad you pet one though. Horses are really amazing animals.

Horses do not attack people. Horses are some of the most gentle souls in this rock. They are employed as emotional support animals and they're a vital part of therapy for those with Aspergers and other special needs conditions. As long as you're a kind person they can sense it and you'll be fine.

@@Nomadicintrovert, I plan to join Harvest Host as I prepare to RV. I'm curious about places like the sanctuary (non-restaurant/winery places). Do they have items to purchase, or do you just make a donation? As I was looking on their Facebook group and it was mentioned, that in an area that I plan to travel, they even had churches. I'm not so interested in Boondocker's Welcome. As an introvert, interacting with the host doesn't seem appealing. 🙃😏 If I traveled with someone that could run interference and do the people stuff, it might not be so bad. Now at 17 he is still riding and bonding with them. I had to overcome my fear...now i ride. My son being autistic and an introvert...has inspired me beyond words...he is my hero. Both breakfast and dinner looked amazing. I've never had Chick-fil-A breakfast. And the horse rescue farm would have been right up my alley. You are wiser to use caution around any animal you don't know, for sure. But just a couple tips. The first horse that approached you and you actually petted, once he put his head over the fence, he waals inviting you to come give him more pets. And the black one when he put hia head over the fence and was licking his lips was really showing being relaxed with you and delighted with your attention. If you go there again maybe you could have one of the caretakers go with you to introduce you and they can read the animal and help you feel more comfortable with your interaction. They are very intuitive creatures and can give you so much. I thought it was a good sign that two approached you and we're giving you permission to interact with them. Especially with rescue animals as they have often had bad experiences. So for sure do go again and ask to have someone go out with you to meet the horses. I still can't believe you don't have snow. We have several inches and starting Saturday we will have snow every day for a week. No doubt we will have feet by the end of that time. Take care out there! Thank you for your kindness!

Fairly new subscriber here, and I love your videos. I am a 75 year old woman. For the last year, I have volunteered at a horse boarding facility, grooming the horses. I never was around horses, but this chance came up, so I took it. I know exactly what you mean about how shockingly big they are when you are actually with them. I was also taken aback at their size when I first went to the stables. They are retired race horses, Thoroughbreds (which is a breed of horse). I obviously get up close and personal when I groom them, and my head comes up to about their back. I am 5'4". They also have their own personalities. Anyway, keep up the great videos, we like seeing what you are up to!

I can’t pet you, your whole head is over. 🤣🤣🤣 me falling out of the chair laughing at how cute you are with the horses. They like you and just want to be petted on the head. They don’t bite at all. I’m happy you went there.

Yay Wyoming! I've lived in Wyoming all my life. One tip, don't be fooled by thinking that all of Wyoming is like it is along I-80. All of the Northern part and most of the middle part of the State is Beautiful! Some of the southern parts are too. Jackson and Yellowstone is FULL of people, but very Beautiful! We have the least population of any state. Our state population is the same as most big city populations. 👍❣️😊

My husband and I went on a 3 week driving vacation through lots of states and ended our trip in Wyoming. Loved it. We stayed for 3 nights in Gillette and were in such a great hotel that we stayed and just took day trips until it was time to drive back to Denver to get our flight back home. Something gets to you in Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and you want to return there. I hope to return someday.
