I'm so tired of people telling you what you should do with your van. You should do what you want to do with your van since you are the one who paid for it and have to live in it. People should have helped put money toward it since they got so much to say.

The pride on your face when you completed the curtain rod installation. Priceless.

If you shop at Walmart or Kroger, you can fill up your 7 gallon water tank for only 39 cents a gallon. The water is filtered and is as good as the type they sell for $1.29/gallon. At the end you won't have 7 empty gallons to get rid of.

For heat in small spaces you can get a tericota plant pot and base, turn it upside down and put a tea light candle inside. It works! 😁

I live in Georgia and a few years back we had an ice storm and all the power gone. I had terracotta planters that worked like a heater. One of the cheapest things you can put together and keep warm and I mean warm!

I suggest the same as Coral Campbell. I believe the “black out” feature is in the white backing. For example: if in a home the gray (fabric) would be facing the interior of the space. Maybe try it and see 🤷🏾‍♀️

Good morning, since you are preparing your van for the winter I have a suggestion. If you close your bathroom door this will keep out A LOT of the cold air. Also, a small blackout curtain will provide even more insulation. Stay warm.

I could be wrong, but I think you have to turn the curtains around and have the white backing face the window, that is how you would have installed them had you put them in them up in your house. I believe the white fabric is the black out part of the curtain. Great idea, I hope the rod held up!

Yoo I’m in the middle of a STRESSFUL move with just myself and a 74 year old man. My body is killing me and I’m feeling discouraged cuz we have SO much more to do but your videos always help me get thru the day! There’s something so comforting about watching you! Thanks soo much!

Th e condensation build up on your windows may be an issue at some point....and it can cause mold growth. ( the condensation is from your breathing and cooking.) Of course it will be ice build up in the winter. The heater may be needed to dry it out in there.

I agree. I think grey side facing into the living area would be good.

I think it smart to using other cheaper means of heating. I feel that as long as you can go before turning the heat on is best. I hate turning the furnace on it will give me a head ache. Also working out other ways to get warm is smart if you have a problem with your heat you’ll already have alternate means to keep warm until it’s fixed. Smart. Love you videos as always and remember you are also loved and valued.

Bless you for thinking about people who may be sleeping in vehicles as a last resort as you winterize your van--exploring the less expensive (and space eating) ways to keep warm. I'm lucky right now, but your "discoveries" remind me of things (like hand and boot warmers) that I can share with people who aren't. Thank you, thank you!

Have you ever considered getting a space blanket(in the camping section) to put under your sleeping bag? It radiates body heat!! I think it would help you to stay warn!!

My 70 yr old uses an old sock, fills it with rice and microwaves it. She says it stay warm a very long time

I feel like your not only helping people living in there car can or rv your helping homeless and even people with a home that can afford all the luxurys I love what you do and that your honest and you show us and we can use these things if we're camping or stuck out in the cold you know what I mean .. also them curtain's are really nice my mom bought green ones but that color is so much nicer I love them.. if ever you get time you should watch some dollar tree diys because they have a lot of stuff that you could do or use and see if it's effective living on the road.. stay safe and warm..

How is this informative? She lives in a 120K van with no insulation and she is being frugal with her heat (yet purchases Starbucks every day?) I see no wisdom in what she is doing.

I love sharing my Birthday with Veterans day because my grandfathers served so did my brothers and cousins and SILs. Thank you and them for the service to our country.

Don't forget you can get that big blue jug filled at Wal-Mart, usually near the front of the store where those blue 5 gallon jugs are.

My husband and I bought a Travato a couple of weeks ago in Arizona. We brought it home to Washington State. After about a week and a half, my husband drove to Costco and a semi backed into the front of it. It’s now been in the shop for a week because it damaged the radiator, they’ve taken it apart, but have no ETA on repairs because some of the parts are on nationwide back order. To say I’m upset is an understatement…I feel your pain!

It is really nice. However, lots of curtains especially blackout curtains that back is facing the window. Would you consider changing the back to face the front window? Or you can read the directions. I knew you would need another panel because those are grommet curtains.

I would have installed with the lining facing outside for cosmetic reasons. It probably doesn’t matter since the white lining is meant to reflect sunlight; it’s not directly against a window.

Michigan has had some awesome weather. You said it was 66. I took my dogs out (and I sit out with them) it was so nice for 6am. I thought about you and others. People worry about you. I watched another channel and she bought a small heater for her camper. It was 19.00 on Amazon and it could be a fan to . It wasn't much bigger than a grapefruit and she said it kept her very warm. It was safe to run cuz no gases. For the money, later when it'd colder and the weather man says it's coming.

The best water bottle to put under your sheets is a single wall stainless one. Since it will be for warmth, you can find them used at the thrift stores. Just be sure it is single walled, and not double. They are a great inexpensive way to heat up your bed and toes.
