If you are afraid of tornadoes moore is probably the best place because more than likely you will have a brand new storm shelter.

I lived in moore for 4 years and just moved away. It was one of my favorite places I've lived! 19th street has everything! Norman is 10 minutes away and has everything! OKC is 15 minutes away and has everything! The airport is centrally located in America and easy to get to! Yes there were lots of tornados but the meteorologists provided like down to the second where the tornados are going to be. Every home has a storm shelter and I had cell reception in mine. The siren would go off then we'd go into the shelter and pull up the weather on our phones, then when it passed we'd get out it wasn't a big deal. Sure if our house got destroyed that would suck but that's what insurance is for

I heard that Moore adopted stricter building codes for new homes after the May 20, 2013 tornado.

Don't sleep on Moore people! I absolutely love the city because it's right between Norman and OKC! Also everything you need is located on 19th street so you don't have to drive all across the city.

I just want to point out that the tornado in 1999 didn't hit f5 statues until it hit west Oklahoma City, which is the Moore school district. It was right before it hit Westmoore High School. I also want to point out that we have had tornadoes in Moore in November of 1998 which took almost the same path of the 1999 tornado.

Tornado alley!!! Just recently moved here abought 8 months ago and haven't met 1 nice person except for 4 of my neighbors on my block and the Police, they are awesome and care. Too many cars parked everywhere. The TRAIN is just God awful, better give yourself an extra 30 minutes on top up that 20 minute commute to okc or norman . Most of South OKC has a nickname dirty south, they have that reputation for a reason. Housing here is cheap. I personally don't think the elementary schools are that great compared to Edmonds. Moore has a skating rink which is cool but no bowling alley. No mall either. I honestly wish we would have bought a house in another town. I have a 2 year plan on getting another home in another town and renting this 1 out. People are just not as friendly but that could also be due to Covid. I have also already been robbed here, first time ever! Hopefully my views change later. This town only has goodwill and 1 overpriced salvation army, there doesn't seem to be any other cool thrifts or vintage type stores around here. Lots of restaurants. Not enough places to take kids for fun although they do have some great parks. I agree about the Station, it is great. I especially love the geese everywhere, they make me smile every time I see them walking by , chilling on my grass or flying. Captured a great picture of some babies once. Well there are my pro's and con's , every city has them

Live anywhere within the universe of Chicago, like I do in Milwaukee, and this sounds like a massive improvement. If you haven't seen a drug deal or gotten carjacked at gunpoint, you haven't had the full on Milwaukee experience.
