Twenty tornadoes in 120 years is one tornado every six years. I live in Tempe, AZ, and according to Wikipedia there was a tornado in 1971. That is apparently the only significant tornado in Tempe and Tempe has been around for about 150 years. Tornadoes may be the one irrational fear that I have so I would never live in Tornado Alley.
Traffic is suffering lately because of growth but love it here.

I just always remind myself traffic still isn't as bad as it is in other major cities.
I looked it up... The most tornado prone town in Oklahoma is Valley Brook, which is only 6.2 miles north of Moore. That's not far at all, which puts the chances of Moore getting hit by another tornado pretty high. From what i can tell, places south of OKC have been getting more tornadoes then places North of the city over the years.
Moore is probably the unluckiest town of all weather's history. Many tornadoes, 3 severes, plus the strongest tornado of all time... yeah grab your tornado shelter if you live here
Considering that tornado videos brought me here, I am going to say no, it is not safe. Beautiful country though.
Thank you. ✌️🏞️🦅
20 tornadoes in 120 years is still alot. Thats one tornado every 10 years.
safest place ive ever lived
Thanks for your honest perspective. I think that I would consider Moore, but I would want a home with a modern tornado shelter - honestly, I think that I would feel that way about anywhere in the OKC area. Are home insurance rates higher in Moore than elsewhere in the state on account of those two very bad tornadoes, or are they about the same?

I think insurance is the same.
Tornado alley
Dont buy a home there without a storm shelter underground. And good luck w homeowners insurance😂

Or plan to purchase one. I hear there are deals to be had at the state fair. They also make nice above ground shelters too if you can't go down the steps in the underground versions.
But the tornadoes tho...

@@NatalieBrattonit was 14 years between the disaster of 1999 and 2013, as well. I’m sure lots of people in that city are looking toward 2027. Hopefully, it doesn’t happen again, though.
