I remember them building Hawaii Kai when I was a kid. Draining the marshes, creating the waterways and islands. We loved messing with the big earthmovers on the weekend.
Hawaii Kai looks so beautiful. Congrats on your new home. I love your videos. I live in California but I vacation in Oahu often. Would love to retire there in a few years.
If I ever hit the lottery, there are only two places I'd be looking to buy: Kahala or Hawaii Kai. That is the stuff dreams are made of though.
I lived in Hawaii Kai back in the 80's! It was great! But expensive so I always lived with 3 or 4 friends/roommates. I miss that place! Lately I have been thinking about going back! Probably just for a visit.
Sweet Home Hawaii Kai!!
Live on the water with my Boston Whaler. Would take it to Chuck's for happy hour. Only bad part was way to windy
Hawaii Kai has such beautiful, safe neighborhoods. I'm going to check out open houses there tomorrow, looks like a few 4 bedroom houses under $2M which seem like good values.
Mahalo for making this video. Love it! This is definitely a great way to market yourself! Ping you if I’m in the market in the future. Aloha.

I’ve heard this before! 😁
We've been thinking of buying a vacation condo in Hawaii and AirBnB-ing it for most of the year until we arrive for vacation. Do a lot of people do this? And are there condo laws or rules with doing it this way?

Hi Bekah great question and probably one of the most frequent conversations we have with prospective buyers here. Check out our Airbnb Guide here and let us know if you would like to further discuss afterwards. If you register on the site, we can also set you up to receive listing alerts on legal Airbnb properties, within your budget: www.dwellhawaii.com/hawaii-vacation-rentals/oahu/
How about you buy a house? I lived in Honolulu, on Ala Moana Street (in 1992-1993). We had friends in Pearl City that paid over $200,000 for a tiny 2bedroom house on a post stamp size plot. We paid $650 for a “onebedroom ” (actually a studio with a partition dividing the bedroom from living room and kitchen). I doubt you can get a one bedroom that doesn’t need complete remodeling for under $1 M. Ok a condo. How much are the fees? There is a big difference from your own house (however small) and a hi rise “condo” (AKA remodeled apartment).

You can get a condo for way under $1M. A full renovated one bedroom goes for around $550K.

Love your videos, so fun, full of info. Would you help someone looking to rent for a year?
when you were growing up did you ever imagined owning a home

It is not Hawaii Kai, It is Hawai'i Ka'i the Eastern Panhandle of Honolulu.
I always see that Hawaii is losing population… not the paradise it used to be.
testing
call it white-manalo
The only Republican district on Oahu.
Hawaii Kai is way overrated , expensive crowded and overdeveloped.
