Since COVID sounded the "all aboard" to the Moving to Hawaii train back in 2020, the Hawaii real estate market has soared. Buyers flocked from similarly high priced real estate markets on the west coast, namely Los Angeles and Bay Area, in hopes to carve out their own piece of Hawaii.
Hawaii condos for sale saw a brief downturn in velocity during the lockdown period as many condo dwellers had to face the stark reality of living near hundreds of people in a building that shares elevators, amenities, and other common areas etc. This inspired a suburban buying frenzy unlike any we've ever seen but as Oahu single family home prices shot through the roof, and as the COVID fears and lockdowns subsided, the Honolulu condo market bounced back and saw its own price run.
Condos for sale in Honolulu now see a median price of over $500,000 and if you're like many of our clients over the last 2 years, you may be wondering what kind of condo that affords you. Without further ado, here's a look at the current state of the Honolulu condo market in 2022!

Funny thing is the average salary in Honolulu is 73k which means they’re only netting 54k. Which means 75% of their income would be going to that cute little 1 bedroom closet in kakaako

Totally agree with you, just come back from oahu, living costs at local shocked me, their living are much more expensive than NYC where i work and live. Our senior hourly rate about 50-75, but average management jobs pays hawaii about 20-35, couldn't figure out how they could afford living. 7 day trip costs about 12500, but its paradise for sure.

@@kingdanny9721My sister and brother-in-law are moving there, but they have remote jobs And they make easily over 100k. They will probably rent a small condo at first so shouldn't be too expensive.

It would be interesting to see how many of those condos are owned by foreign investors.

Why monthly HOA is $1000??? It’s time to change the rules after showing people the real expenses of monthly public stuffs maintain!!! When mortgage is around $3000-$5000.
I had no idea the Kingsgate fees were so reasonable.

All I can say is good luck finding that price here. Best bet is a studio apartment in an old, run down building away from the city
