I have lived in Cusco for 4 years off and on since 2016. It is an amazing place to live. Truly special. And far, far deeper than it would seem to many visitors who (understandably) don't have the time to explore it deeply. If you're into architecture and ruins and history, this is one of the most raw, unfiltered places you could live compared to many others in Latin America. Cusco is a heck of a lot more than San Blas and the Plaza de Armas, clearly. There's fascinating ruins everywhere in this general region and near Machu Picchu. Cusco was the capital of one of the largest empires in history: The Inca Empire. The most important temple in Inca history is located here: Qoricancha. Food scene is pretty good. Bordering on delightful. Fresh produce everywhere. Amazing avocados. Cost of living with eating out once every day at fancy places, having a gym, yoga place, and traveling around the region: Around $1500-$1600 USD/month. Your apartment would be around $500-$700/month with this price point. That's very expensive for the vast majority of Cusquenos. My apartment was in the dead center of San Blas, super super cute with a very large kitchen. It was $200/month. But it was very small, and quite rustic but with a beautiful garden and very expensive, nice bed. Decent, clean bathroom/shower. But it was quite small in the bedroom/work area so I wouldn't advise that for a couple whatsoever. That would be with a nice, large apartment (but not especially fancy -- just quite nice) in one of the most expensive parts of town: San Blas (the super touristy part with the plaza).

Hello do you have some suggestion where/how to look for a 2-3 mths accomodation? AirBnB is always higher priced than actual rentals for locals...

First I think! Toilet paper is important. The amount of fresh food you got for $35 was impressive.
