Nice to hear it from you, as for myself, I´m spending about USD1,500 per month total, of which USD500 is rent (60 sq meter 1 BR appartment in San Borja district, nice neighborhood), maybe up to USD200 on gasoline (I do own a car), another USD200 dining out and nightlife - without going out too much, and the rest is on food and other miscellaneous stuff. I´m not considering any travelling, just my average daily in town living expenses.
This is great content, very helpful. I lived in Peru 16 years ago as a missionary but I lived in the super ghetto parts. Now I have a wife and 3 kids and I want to move back. Someplace a little nicer this time haha. So this was very helpful. Subscribed

You’re actually living very expensive. I pay about 400 a month for my apartment & bills. Granted it looks like you’re in miraflores or (damn can’t remember the other rich one). I usually shop and cook my meals. That really lowers my expense.

Hello from Florida, I was not looking at Lima. However maybe I should. Thank you for the information. How about the weather year-round? Do it snow there?
@1WorldWideWes
Жыл бұрын
Hi Monique! Lima weather is definitely not like Florida weather lol. The summer (June-August) is definitely cold and very cloudy. I was lucky to catch some sunny days. Ive heard that the September-May has better weather. I'd imagine with better weather and a nice apartment you would have a great time

overall, seems its not as cheap as most vlogs would have you believe.
Brother if you would go outside of Miraflores to eat you would spend less than a 3rd of the money eating out everywhere else other than Miraflores is 10 times cheaper and instead of tact you use the public transportation you could mostly spend about 30 dollars a month night life is cheap too Miraflores you are paying foreigners price

Hey! I know this video is old and you may not be living there anymore but, could you share your experience with racism in Lima? It may sound crazy in a country where almost 90% of the population is considered with an indigenous background but racism is a huge deal (I lived there for 36 years).
@1WorldWideWes

As crazy as it sounds I never had any issues and they were so so nice to me my entire 3 month stay. Maybe it was because I’m American
I can live in us in that amount. Arequipa you can live half price with better weather

You don´t necessarily have to go where it´s cheapest, neither everyone will be on the watch for the nickle and dime. You just settle where you feel confortable. Of course, this won´t be the same for every person.
Thats messed up, its not showing me your videos. I been subbed for a minute now too.

@1WorldWideWes
Жыл бұрын
What’s good bro! Tough question. I think playa is more for first time travelers because it is so Americanized. Lima is a major capital city a fraction of the tourism the playa has. Personally because I enjoy different cultures, food, & activites id choose Lima over Playa

@@1WorldWideWes Nice, yeah im going to be leaving Playa this month and maybe spend 6months in Lima depends on how i like it. Playa was my first travel coming from California. @@derrylsanders yeah the views are dope! Just make sure you go during non winter months. I liked Lima but going during the winter changed my experience. Also I’m not sure where your Spanish level is at, but I’d try to get at least conversational to improve your experience there, hope this helps ✊🏾
