What an intelligent and observant comparison. We've lived in Adelaide 40+ years and have friends who've lived in Canberra the same time - both happily. If only Adelaide house prices were as low nowadays.

I would guess from your video you live or lived in Adelaide and spent 72 hours in Canberra You seemed to imply that everything was about 2 hours away but there is plenty of stuff to do within 45 minutes of the CBD including bushwalking, biking, wineries and rivers for swimming and kayaking . the other thing you haven't really understood about Canberra is the city is built around a series of satellite town centres so instead of most of the shopping district being concentrated in the CBD each town centre will have shopping areas restaurants and amenities so you may not have any reason to visit the CBD and there are many good cafes and restaurants at local suburban shops.

@@precisi0n86 True we're a weird mob and an odd setup which means a lot of people here are only here for short periods due to the public service and as that rare creature someone born and raised here a lot of them aren't worth the spit needed to drown a flea but most are pretty good people. But it is still a great place to raise kids.

Canberra doesn't look huge from the aerial shot but it's got to be one of the most sprawling cities per capita on earth. The burbs are hidden in the trees. Like Bill Bryson said Adelaide has nice parks but you're still in a city. Canberra IS the park.

Adelaide is currently the most liveable city in Australia and the third most liveable city in the world. It is also the only city in the world that is surrounded by parklands. You also could have mentioned that Adelaide is in close proximity to world class wine regions and it’s only a short walk to the world renowned Adelaide Oval. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

I live an hour from Canberra. In summer its fairly normal too see 45° degrees during the day, also its not wierd to see snow in november 🤷. In winter ive personally seen and worked in -14° overnight. Cost of living in Canberra is outrageous.

Hi, glad you found it useful! The main websites for buying and renting property are realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. Also flatmates.com.au (mainly for house shares but you can look for whole places to yourself too). I think seek.com.au is the big employment site, but just Google to find more. Best of luck!

As someone who lives in Canberra the tap water is good I happily drink water straight from the tap. Alidade used to be a port where ship were told not to take on drinking water but that as I understand it has been remedied but as I understand it it is still very hard so you may need a water softener

There are hundreds of different visas, so it will depend which one you are eligible for. I would start by looking into permanent residency on the Australian government website. immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/permanent-resident If you need advice, you should find a MARA registered migration agent, as they are the only people who can give visa advice. Here is my blog post on how I got my visa, which is a skilled migration visa. Best of luck! dreamingofdownunder.com/189-visa-australia/
