#1 spot to park in any city? Busy Hospitals parking lots. It works if you have a car and not a RV , bus type vehicles. How they know you're not visiting or a patient. Hospitals have cheap good cafeteria food also.

Should give it a try, it work for me .Never once was I stopped or bothered by security or police. Everywhere I traveled in my van I always parked at a hospital and then walked around the city I was at.

Agreed about the salt air. I am on the beach right now in Washington state. Nothing like the ocean air, hearing the waves crash, and the sun on your face!!

I bought a stainless steel basket that fits most of my mugs. I agree that French press clean up is a mess. Pour over works just as well.

I own a 16 cup French press and I use very little water. Use a rubber frosting spatula and scoop out the used ground coffee, a quick spray 3 seconds and boom, it's cleaned.

Hi Brad. I'm so cheap, I use the paper towel and elastic band method for my coffee cup filters 😆. It works well. Just don't pour too much water too fast 👍

Look at cars with their windows blacked out parked in front, or to the side of apartment complexes! I saw it in Houston.. I couldn't believe it. If you didn't know what to look for, you'd think it's residents or visitors.

New sub from Melbourne, reading a lot of negative comments about van living - you're definitely doing the right thing. Australia is very similar to where you are at present, lots of coastal spots and the lifestyle. But I have to call you out on your coffee mate. If you get the chance try a real Aussie flat white, you won't be making filtered coffee for long. As for that garbage Starbucks, please just don't 😅🇦🇺🦘

I collect 50% before i start 50% due when i complete. havent had an issue yet

I stopped drinking coffee a few years ago with no regrets. I've been drinking green tea with matcha. Don't get me wrong, I love coffee flavor it just doesn't agree with my stomach.

I'm sure 90% of those van lifers (regardless of how they might spin it) are not doing van life as a "fun easy going freestyle lifestyle" but rather forced to live that way due to the overall economical situation... and that's whats so sad to me. Id do it too but I'm to broke to even buy a van..

Where does everyone discard bodily waste? Even urine on grass will start to smell. I pooped into my waste basket with a liner than throw it in a dumpster. I also have back pain from doing that 5 months straight. A van is hard to have a decent bed. That dumpster near there must be full of bagged poop. So too many van lifers in one place, yuck

Yeah, it isn't going to last long. You guys that abuse the goodwill of communities and individuals always ruin it for everyone else. Quit freeloading and thinking you are special and deserve special treatment. I live for extended periods in my vehicle also, but I move around, and don't congregate in a large mass that is obnoxious to the local residents. Thanks for destroying another location.
