It's has more character than those miles of cement boxes of godawful Soviet apartment blocks, this has some individualism and greenery. There's appears some serenity. Sorry, I've been listening to too much CSpam internet radio with DRumpF and Biden both dumping on China for very insincere reasons, and that rather strange comment was just some unrestrained lowbrow sarcasm, that said I'm presuming you never knew the name on the birth certificate the Ukrainian used to get elected in 2016 was "Donald J. DRumpF" but anyway, just a bit of sarcasm not at all aimed at you or China really ~ BTW I'd have to actually agree with you about character in some of the places I've seen videos of...

hi patricia, you are correct in saying these places are orderly, clean and a feeling of serenity, these communitys are the favourite places of mine to visit whilst iwas in china, i was pleasantly suprised by them once i had become accustomed to the runned down looking appearance from the outside and enterd the lanes and alleys, the overall joy of walking through and truelly believing you could be back in time 100 years or so was the highlight for me, i think you would enjoy imensly if you ever get the chance.very calm and peacfull enviorenment, the chinese in my experience in these communitys are very warm and friendly people.👍

Similar places here in US, Europe or Russia are far more dangerous, dirty, hopeless & full of mentally disturbed people. Thank You again for opportunity to see real people & places in China, it was very interesting for me🙏🙏🙏🙂

Having spent years working in and exploring Chongqing, I cannot understand the reason for the title of this video. Nobody looks happy and there is no way to know if they are factory workers or not. Over the years of my stay in Chongqing, I explored many older and more interesting areas around the city, where I witnessed the wholesale distruction and redevelopment of areas of a city with a long and truly fascinating history. This would appear to be filmed in an area yet to be redeveloped near the XinQiao Hospital in Shaping Ba district in the western suburbs. If this was filmed just two weeks ago, the current pandemic would certainly explain the uncrowded street scapes. All the signs focussed on in this video were for empty homes for rent..... not a good sign for the owners but there are plenty of cheaply built high rise for rent offered as alternatives before these properties eventually get demolished.

those building look worn down and poor, depressing. i think the workers deserve a better place to live, they are the ones who by their labor produce everything and built the world. in the end of the video there are tall skyscrappers to see, appartments. why dont the workers get appartments in those tall skyscrappers ? i think those skyscrappers will be much newer and better than those old houses where the workers currently reside. china is so rich and no new appartments for the workers ?? its same like in europe and the u.s.a., the few rich get rich by the labor of all the people while the people then are kept poor, in the u.s.a. that is called capitalism and in china "socialism", then they put people against each other over it and the few rich stay on top.

    为什么他们工作这么多却住在一个小房间里? 工资太低不能养家糊口? 他们有家庭吗? 他们必须尽可能多地寄钱给偏远的家庭吗? 生活可以更丰盛。

"The life of the people at the bottom??"" Well, then its paradies!!! congratulations to Chong Ching, China!!! ....At least there is a place they can call home. Its safe, clean and quiet. If you compare to "Favela" in Brazil and "Skid Row" Downtown in LA, USA....then China has beautiful safe homes for "Life at bottom"(its not nice of you to use this term). In every country in the world, rich people can afford bigger homes and poorer people has smaller homes. Thats a fact.

In fact, there are many people who cannot afford to buy a house in China. A large number of people in China live in third-tier cities, and they work in second-tier and first-tier cities.

About 13 to 14 usd per month for a 4g cell phone with 300 minutes call time+20G mobile internet traffic+100M unlimited broadband line. About 20 usd for a 5g cell phone with 500 minutes call+20G mobile internet traffic+300M unlimited broadband. There are cheaper plans for students or only broadband without a cell phone bundled. The first two examples are common for working class families. Conmmercial users or affluent families may choose 90 usd per month for 300G mobile internet traffic+3000 minutes call time+1000M unlimited broadband.
