ABOUT IOWA 80
A place where people want to stop. On the eastern edge of Iowa, not far from the Mississippi River, adjacent to the small town of Walcott, you’ll find a place like no other in the world. The Iowa 80 Truckstop, now the World’s Largest Truckstop, established its home here in 1964 and is now in itself a home away from home to countless drivers and a destination for travelers as well. Some say Iowa 80 Truckstop is like a small city, others have likened it to a Trucker’s Disneyland, all can agree it is a place not to be missed.
Iowa 80 Trucking Museum:
The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum was a dream of Iowa 80 Truckstop founder, Bill Moon. Bill had a passion for collecting antique trucks and other trucking memorabilia. We are pleased to be able to share this collection with the general public. Every truck has a story to tell and can provide a unique glimpse back in time. Many rare and one-of-a-kind trucks are on display. View short films about trucking history in our REO theater; a great way to learn even more about the trucks of yesteryear. Come and visit us, we'd love to have you.

Incredible!! A trucker’s oasis! Thanks for the shout out! This place is totally on my bucket list whenever I’m able to drive cross-country! Not sure about the buffet though. The quality looks questionable. But the fact that they have a movie theatre where you can choose the movie is freakin awesome! Would love to try Einstein Bros. Bagels 🥯 only wish the closest one wasn’t 3 and a half hours from me in Ohio. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family, Ken!🎄🍾🎉🎊

I lived, like physically lived at this truck stop for 3 months last summer while working a pipeline job in Atlissa. I pulled my 6X12 stealth trailer in every day into the RV parking area and stayed there. I had fresh food, showers, and entertainment whenever I wanted them. Nobody bothered me and it was a great experience. Glad you checked this place out.

As a truck driver I’d like to thank you, Ken, for doing these truck stop tours. These places are kinda home away from home away from home for the professional drivers of America and Canada. Places like the Iowa 80 are a kinda treat to get to stay at, especially for a weekend. Unfortunately some of the more common places to park, like Pilot or Flying J, offer far less.

One of the best parts of places like this is how they can hook everything up to your truck cab. So, you can be in your sleeper and get air/heat, TV/movies, order food, etc..all without leaving your truck. It's all piped in via a duct that hooks up to your window. Especially nice when it's below zero, or in the high 90s.

All they had were canned peaches when I stopped there. The buffet improved quite a bit after they did their remodel to the buffet. I remember one time when I stopped there the fried chicken was room temperature, so was the fish. I didn't come back until they had did their remodel and tried them out again. The only thing lacking was fresh fruit.

I did get to see that truck stop once on my way to Missouri, but I was kinda in and out because I was hauling ass and didn't have time to screw around. I didn't even realize that it had ALL of these amenities. That's crazy. As a truck driver, this is amazing. I'm not an OTR driver, but if I was this would be amazing and be so much fun to stop there.

In Canada, McCain markets them as Tasti Taters. In the U.S. you'll see Ore-Ida Tater Tots and the name is trademarked. Canada is the world's largest producer of frozen french fries and related potato products with McCain and Cavendish being the two largest Canadian producers.
