This was very informative. Thank you. Although I do disagree with one thing. Not having access to alcohol is a PRO not a con. One thing all people say about Qatar is how safe it is. Why do you think that this? Well Im pretty sure one of the main reasons is because theres no access to alcohol. When people are drunk they act violent and foolish.

Thanks for the positivity and comment. South Korea has a huge drinking culture and it's one of the safest countries in the world in regards to personal safety. In general, when you see drunken violence there, it's coming from the foreigners, which would mean there's something more cultural at work than JUST alcohol.

I completely agree. The traffic is already bad enough! Other than the awful driving, and boredom being stuck alone sometimes, I remember smiles all over the place. If you have a good enough income and are not a Muslim, you can get a card that lets you buy alcohol in the one store in Qatar that sells it. This card also lets you buy pork which is in the same store. it's in a room which you enter passing through hanging platic strips, like the adult section of a video store. Also you can go to a Sports Bar in one of many hotels.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Some of our interviewees don't want to open up about money for different reasons. Myanmar is relatively cheap so if you're making a comparable salary from your home country and you can live well in your home country on that salary, then you'll save in Myanmar if you choose to live the same standard of life. Does that make sense? Use a resource like Numbeo as a guide to compare where you're living and where you want to go. We appreciate the comment and hope you find our other videos as useful if not more.

Thank you. Engineering ist a little too niche for us, however, why go for the best option if your goal is to live in Qatar? Why not try both? Identify companies in your industry that are hiring, apply to them, and also apply for phd programs at schools in Qatar that you'd like to attend. If you get into the program and a job, you'll have the option to weigh the pros and cons for what works best for you! It's almost impossible to get into a program that you've never applied for or someone sees you walking down the street and offers you a job in the field you want to work in. You've got to take action and ownership and get out there to make it happen. You've got this, Engr Aziz! Keep us posted on your progress. We look forward to hearing from you.

Great question and we'll be 100% honest, we're not sure. You're talking about a highly technical skill that's extremely specific. In saying that, being an expert in a field is rarely ever a bad thing, but the jobs might be limited. You might just need to check into those hospitals and those board or organizations that are responsible for the development of the health care sector in Qatar. Do you currently work for a company that manufacturers this type of equipment? If so, check with your HR about opportunities there or being relocated to Qatar altogether.

Hi Alfredo, what industry do you want to work in and what industry are you finding these horrendous experiences in? The reason we ask is because most teachers we know have good experiences and their experience does hinge on the school they're teaching at. Also we have an interview with a Kenya that works as a personal trainer and his experience has been mixed partially due to lower wages and struggles with classism.

The hospitality industry has been widely reported as poor. There are many reports, especially from lower ranking passport countries that have had wages reduced or gone unpaid. Unless you're looking at a managerial position from a top passport country, it's advisable to proceed with serious caution.
