Living and Retiring in WV

Are you considering retiring in WV? Lots of people are considering the same thing - and for very good reason - the main one being the lower cost of living. Also, living in West Virginia comes with a lot of good things. It's a beautiful area, less densely populated, friendly. If you are considering retiring in this area be sure to download the Relocation Guide. Here's the link for that: meetmeinthepanhandle.com/relo....

Thanks for the insights. We purchased a lovely historical home in Kingwood WV 18 months ago and counting the last 5 years of California living before we retire in your beautiful state. Well done!

Very interesting. If I was to retire to West Virginia, which I am not ready to do, it would most likely be to Fayette, Raleigh, or Kanawha County, where my family is from.

Hi😊 Thanks for this video! Did I hear you correctly…police pensions are NOT taxed by the state of WV?? We are looking to relocate to a state that won’t tax a Maryland police pension. Are there any stipulations in WV regarding taxing an out of state police pension? 2:08

I live in Jersey, outside Philly. thinking on relocating to WV and Harpers Ferry caught my eye. Im approaching retirement and feel its time to make a move. Im in the legal field and my son is a barber. Thoughts on Harpers Ferry? Oh and i lived in Nevis for a decade so small town in WV sounds great... I always say if you can make it in NJ, you can make it anywhere. 😊

I am a West Virginian and I retired in West Virginia in early 2001... sad to say but WV is a third world country... infrastructure is either non-existent or crumbling... poverty and drugs are rampant, trash is everywhere... it may be cheaper that other states but in the end you get what you pay for and here we get almost nothing

@@bettyb1581 Saltville, VA is far from the WV panhandle in the southwestern part of Virginia. It's along the I-81 corridor and not too far from Bristol-Kingsport-Johnson City area of Tennessee/Virginia. It is VERY rural, but within driving distance to some nice little towns like Marion and Abingdon, along with the bigger more populated tri-cities area I mentioned above.
