Living an alcohol-free life is FREEDOM! July 4th, 2020

None of us really have freedom if we're slaves to alcohol. Alcohol kills and destroys relationships and it doesn't care who you are or where you live or your job title. It will destroy you. This 4th of July weekend is fraught with drinking. If you wake up tomorrow morning and feel like shit, remember, you don't have to drink. You CAN stop and you CAN live free of that demon-juice.

I'm 4 months sober. Im 60. I dont think about it at all. Took 1 month to get over it, then the good days started to roll.

Congrats on 4 months! It's really quite remarkable how absolutely fan-tab-u-lous life is without this poison. I wish EVERYONE would understand that! Thanks for sharing with me! Stay vigilant, my friend!

I’ve done the research myself. It was Allen Carr that clicked for me, but I love Annie, too. And you’re so right, moderation doesn’t work. Quitting saves you so many decisions!

@@RobynWingerter It really is! At the same time, I also know I can have a drink whenever I want to, but I honestly just don’t want to! I feel no need to avoid bars or parties. I don’t care if people drink in my presence. I’m not missing out on anything. It’s just like when I was done with cigarettes, except I got to this point so much faster with booze. Happy Holidays, Robyn! Here’s to a great New Year! ❤️

Good job. I saw your video in my feed that was 3 years old. You were 10 months sober then. Checked in to see if you were still going strong. Congratulations. 4 years, you made it over the hump. The process is longer than alot of people think. For me it was about after 3 years or so, I gradually realized, "Holy Cow, I'm sober. I've been sober for 3 years. And I'm loving it!" It's great. It really is. I never missed alcohol or drugs for one minute. Never craved them for one second. I always looked back and said, "Yup, I know what that was. Had my time with that." Who knew what they taught us in Sunday School and Saturday Morning PSAs was so true? Now it seems so obvious. LOL! Take care. Thanks for your video.

Thank you for this video. Love seeing a mature woman talking about her experience. In my case I had stopped drinking last year for dry January and continued until June 11 and had wine at a restaurant because I had a vaccine and did not want to “miss out” on the whole patio scene. I was very good about moderating my intake…was maybe a couple glasses a week for the first few months, then all went to hell in about November where I began my past daily wine drinking- usually a half a bottle a night but if there were people here…drank more. By Christmas I had a couple of incidents…threw up in bed, slept in my own vomit. BUT I knew that come January I would stop again. And I have. I do not ever want to drink again. Supposedly this is for 6 months but I do agree….moderation does not work. By the way I am 71. Drinking wreaks absolute havoc with your body. It is a known cause of several cancers yet television tells you that is how you have fun. That is a cultural problem. I could go on, oh, I did go on, forgive me.

Barbara, thank you for sharing all of that. I, too, quit for 4 months a few years before I actually quit for good. Then, I went to a class reunion and my cousin talked me into having "just one." HA I stayed drunk another couple years until July 2016. So, never quit quitting. It will stick at some point. Alcohol is soooo toxic to our bodies. It's a miracle that we can all survive as long as we do drinking poison. It's a testament to how incredible our bodies are! Stay in touch and I'm pulling for you! 💪👍💜

What a great message, I am surprised you do not have any comments! I am participating in the 30 day Alcohol Experiment which is an Annie Grace program. It was like I was listening to you tell my story. I am on day 5 and feeling okay, drinking my Kombucha and seltzer. I hope at the end of the 30 days, like you I decide to keep on...keeping on! Thanks for sharing.

Diane, I JUST REALIZED that I had comments "held for approval" so I didn't see any of these until just today. OMG. How are you doing on your alcohol-free journey?
