Kocsis comes from Hungarian. There was a town known as Kocs, and they invented a suspension system for horse-drawn carts. Carts using this suspension systems were said to be from Kocs. In Hungarian, that is - Kocsi lovasszekér (horsecart). Over time, it merged into being lovaskocsi (Horse Coach), meaning cart from kocs but as a word of its own. Someone who specialized in making these coaches became known as a "Kocsis" - the s prefix implying they own one, or deal with it. English turned the Kocsi word into Coach. Countries Hungary subjugated as its vassals either before or during the Austro-Hungarian empire ended up taking hungarian names. Poland had a fair bit of Hungarian refugees after 1848, which explains its appearance there too.

If you are surprised with the British livestock boom build, you should try the Chinese livestock boom. *It's obscene.* I played Chinese without any shipments and pulled out the stunt once with so plenty of meat that I get rich selling the surplus in the market and spammed Old Han Armies like crazy. And it was like "Villages go BRRR". But I can tell, after seeing the wiki page about Chinese Home City cards, that if you max out Villages' limit and send in Age 1 first _"Land Grab"_ (Villages and Rice Paddies -30% cost and are built 75% faster), in second shipment _"Nomadic Expansion"_ (+1 Village build limit) and then in the next shipments you send _"Stockyards"_ (Livestock animals fattens 30% faster when grazing at Villages), then _"Fulling Mills"_ (Villagers gather Food from livestock thrice as fast) and lastly _"Year of the Goat"_ (2 Goats per Village and Town Center) and _"Great Migration"_ (+1 Fat Goat and Villager per Village and Town Center) later... well, do I have to say more? *IT'S EVEN MORE OBSCENE*

By shipping 8 sheep in some maps, which can build 2 trading posts, Ottoman could keep up making Janissary in 2 barracks for a stupid amount of time. Haven't tried this too many times yet, but my friend did run out of age 1&2 cards when fighting with this, lol. I'm new to this game, so it will be great if someone can check it to see it either works or not in multiplayer.😊 My build order: shipment settler 7 sheep all on food use wagon build a house hero build 2 trading posts asap, then focusing on exp and food 3 settlers |age up with 400 wood| 2 settlers going to the front was close to mine and hunt and build barracks when they can 700 wood 2 settlers gather that 400+700 wood, one of them keep building houses after 1st barrack, the second one can choose to build a mosque and research settler build speed if you lost many units 700 gold only 1 settler on gold shipment, all others on food, 2 or 3 settlers gather food from sheep barrack should keep building Janissary tills the ends 600 gold 700 food 13 settlers on gold all others on food 600 food 7 cows whatever(you can still ship 7 sheep if you need since it comes with a wagon that you can use to build a house or mill)

I mean it only works on mongolia, otherwise it takes alot of cards to actually see a benefit. And those lack of cards put you at disavantage early game on any other map. Also only lakota will have struggle pulling this off as aztec got a farm age up, iroquois has travois into farm age 1 (and fulling mills) and incas got the travois age up into farm too! Also its not good vs people than have extra scout like french, dutch or aztec as they will get most of the yaks due to superior scouting!

I wouldn’t say this is broken. Our hero’s strategy worked as well as it did because he got enough yaks. This strat has a couple problems. Sending the 8 sheep card isn’t horrible but it’s pretty lacking compared to other cards such as 3 villagers without it’s counterpart fattening card. This boom works best with British because of this other can do this but to a worse degree.

  • @AaronMichaelLong

@quarfg You are wildly incorrect. Livestock is a very, very niche strat which only works on specific maps, under specific conditions. You have to be on a map with a large number of roaming cattle, and you have to collect enough of them to ensure an adequate payoff of that up-front investment of 250 wood. The star of the show here isn't the livestock, it's Koczis' utterly sublime rush defense. He managed to hold of a very strong Iroqois rush while losing maybe a single settler.
