Glad you found it helpful! Good luck this year. You’re going to love it!
Very good video and informative! I picked up my LVS34 this winter and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm finding along the same settings that I like to run also on mine. One thing to add is the trails are sometimes nice for the walleye that like to hug tight to the bottom to pick them up a little easier. Otherwise most of the time I agree trails off. I do prefer amber color most of the time myself though. Great videos keep up the good work!

Great Video really like how you took time to explain each setting in more detail, I'm just new to the Live Scope game and purchased the LVS34 having trouble picking targets up passed 50ft in shallower water I'm going to give your settings a try and see how it goes, I've never played around with the focus to much I'll give that a try as well. Thanks again!!

Glad you enjoyed and found it helpful! You’re going to love this Livescope! I would say bumping up that color gain and making sure your transducer is straight will help a lot when picking targets up, but that longer distance in shallow water can be tricky!

Thanks good teacher. Have you used it much on rivers? I was just wondering about clutter issues on rivers?
@tjsguideservice

I have used it on the rainy river. I haven’t had a ton of issues with clutter, but for whatever reason I don’t see fish as easily. I wonder if they are tighter to bottom or if they are moving too much.
Hi Enjoyed the video just wondering if you have any shallow water video’s. we fish walleye in 4 to 6’ of water where we are and I find it difficult to set up the units. Any tips or tricks. Thxs.

Good job, did you mention what screen unit you are using? Do you like the forward as opposed to the down view even when ice fishing ?
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
I didn’t! Great idea. It is the Ultra 106sv. I like forward a lot, especially for panfish. If I know I’m going to be fishing one spot for a while I will definitely switch to down. Especially for the dead zones.

I don't think it's an Ultra106sv, I can hear you turning the dial to zoom. Has to be a GPS Map 1042xsv or maybe the 12. Echomap series does not have a dial. Great video as usual TJ!

If you are scouting around looking for walleye that are right on the bottom, what is the best way and best settings for that.
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
These settings should work very well for that! If they are super tight to bottom it might look like “lava” rolling on the bottom. If you turn on bottom fill it may be helpful to see them moving like that.
Just picked up the 34 with the 106sv. Quick question, how did you get the gain, depth, and range to appear. My screen as the factory shortcuts. I used your settings and am dialed in!!!

I have an lvs34 and am wondering what your thoughts are regarding the following. Question pertains to down mode. Lets say your in 10 fow in a 2 man house, the unit is right in front of few a few feet away and is in the center of 2 holes so you're actually pointing at one of the other holes. JIgs show up great. Turn the unit 90 degrees and don't see the jigs. The hole are about 2' away from the lvs34. Is there a formula as to how "wide" the cone angle is in down mode? thx
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
It is a 135 degree by 20 degree cone angle. So I think you are looking at your 20 degree cone. I think the general rule of thumb is roughly 1/3 of your depth. This video may give some clarity! kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJl8lrqbeqXLirA.html
Just got my LVS34 still learning. How do you zoom in and out on forward facing?
@tjsguideservice

That depends. What unit do you have?
i don’t have the use AHRS option
Is there a setting to get rid of the lag time? Like when you jig your rod it takes a second before you see it move on the screen if that makes sense.
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
Not that I am aware. Each upgrade in unit improves the processor so the lag time improves with each unit, but nothing that completely eliminates it.
Great video TJ! I have the LVS 32 and I feel sometimes when I am in forward mode in shallow waters (10 or less fow) the walleyes can sense the beam coming from the ducer. Many times when I am scanning the beam hits them and I see them turn around or they will come in close 5-10 ft away and sense the beam and turn away. Do you think walleyes can sense the beams coming from the transducer? TIA for your input
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Will! I have wondered this many time and have talked with people that swear by it. I can’t say I have noticed anything personally. I have had walleyes come in in 6 feet of water and attack my jig like crazy. Spooky fish can be spooky fish no matter what, sometimes. Not saying it can’t be part of it, and I would be curious to learn more, but I haven’t experienced it personally.

@@tjsguideservice thanks for your input. It doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen often to me on certain lakes. Which could also be from the high fishing pressure making the fish more skiddish. Keep up the great content and tight lines 🎣

How do u zoom your biat...I have a 1/16 jigs n fishing at 35feet deep I can't see my jig anymore do know y
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
It depends on your unit. Mine is touch screen so I can zoom in with my fingers, much like on a phone. The first thing I would start with is making sure the angle is your ducer is straight. Sometimes they can get slightly off and then the deeper you get, the less you see your jig. I would also try putting your color gain to 100% and slowly increasing your gain until you can see your jig. Otherwise, play around with the direction of your ducer and see if that helps!
Do you keep it more on down or forward?

Besides scouting initially for fish, there is never a time where you should be using forward view ice fishing. Down as the same in front and back of you and has way better detail and no wasted screen? Not sure why people would ever use forward once you are set up and found fish. Forward is for scouting and summer fishing. Don’t use it for winter
@tjsguideservice
Жыл бұрын
I agree and disagree. Down can give you the best picture of you are sitting in one spot. If you are hole hopping chasing basin crappies it makes way more sense and is way more efficient to keep it in forward and just zoom in and out. You can still clearly see fish underneath you and biting, but can also fzoom out and see fish 100 feet away without having to change settings.
