    I was here for this stream. This stream is probably going to go down in some sort of history. As a resident of Springfield, I can't thank this man enough for his pure dedication to make sure that thousands of people stay safe during times like these. Watching that ARDOT camera footage was absolutely insane. Huge respect.

    I wanted to come back to this and thank you for the coverage last night. You probably saved many lives, because you were way ahead of NWS and many of us didn't have any local news coverage. I was able to shelter in advance, and thanks to your precise locations given, down to the road names, I was able to call and alert several loved ones in the path. I have family and friends along most of that long storm track. Again, thank you so much. You and the team were invaluable to myself and my family. God bless you.

    Hope everyone out there is safe. I'm just west of there and just barely got missed by some that dropped. A family friend sent a pic of a tornado in little Kansas, but it confuses me because the bad part of the storm didn't appear that far south on the radar.

  • @Gutslinger
    @Gutslinger21 күн бұрын

    8:28:07 - My dad was there at the lake. He claimed there was one to the north and to the south of him and caused significant damage. He had gotten a huge fish hook embedded in his wrist before the storm. 8:53:13 - That one was very close to me. It's a mostly wooded area, but there are a couple of houses there. If I was able, I would've went and checked to see if any damage occurred. 8:56:02 - That one looks directly over me. My mother was standing outside on the south side of the house, and claimed that the air felt cold. Then she went on the north side of the house where my uncle was, and said it felt hot and muggy. We heard a sound of wind that sounded like a tornado, but I'm not sure if there was one. It didn't sound like the typical high winds of a thunderstorm. It was a distinctive "woooosh-ing" sound. The other stream I watched showed 3 areas of rotation barely north of us. Not directly over us like this one.. And my uncle's friend, who lives just a few miles southeast in Kansas, Oklahoma, and he sent my uncle a picture of a slim tornado there. But there doesn't appear to be anything in that area on these radars, so it confuses me. And of course I'm very familiar with the towns east of here that was hit. Like Colcord, and Decatur, where possibly 4 tornadoes were on the ground. 4 tornadoes and 7 rotations is just insane. I badly wish I had a storm shelter, because it seems like any time there's any type of thunderstorm, they're ALWAYS trying to drop tornadoes in my area. Seems like over half of a dozen close calls for this area in just the past month and a half.. I want it to be over. 😑 I'm thankful we're safe though.

    You and your crew (and a few other KZreadrs) send out the alarms for the Valley View tornado well in advance while NWS Fort Worth diddled around trying to decide. I hate to be cynical, but I am seeing some incompetency from that NWS office. Unfortunately 7 deaths happened from the TX and OK tornadoes. I have no doubt you all saved a lot of lives.

    Ryan, regarding telling people to share and spread the word, I’ve heard television weather people calling out to let friends and family know to turn on the radio or the television or if the danger is imminent just get safe. The power of people sharing information with friends who may not be aware is lifesaving. Please don’t be embarrassed, the calls to share are as important as information regarding where the weather is and what it’s doing.

    Drove 4 hours to assist with search and rescue in the valley view area, just got back home. It was a mean storm, cars and building parts everywhere. Please remember hiding under over passes is a bad idea one took a direct hit and it didnt look like a single car there drove away with no damage. Sadly most of the injured were people taking shelter in the gas station and from 35.

    I was backpacking and out in the middle of the woods in a tent where that tornado warning happened in Pennsylvania. We were not supposed to see severe weather so I hadn’t been checking, but thankfully our phones went off with the warning. With the limited cell service I had I could still load my radar omega app to see that the area of rotation was headed exactly right towards us so we knew we needed to seek out sturdier shelter ASAP (which ended up being the bathrooms a couple minutes walk across the campsite area). Luckily the storm blew through without any damage. Though I wasn’t watching your stream at the time, thank you Ryan for all you do keeping folks weather aware, it definitely helped me be prepared in that situation!!

    Hey Ryan Hall, I live in Pryor, Oklahoma and I want to give you a fun fact. The last tornado that went through Pryor city limits was an F5 on April 27th, 1942. After that tornado a great Cherokee Indian Chief buried a hatchet and conducted a sacred ceremony that protects the town of Pryor to this day. I don't much believe in stuff like that, but even watching the local news station's radar in real time and rewatching yours, it definitely makes you wonder how that tornado dissipates before Pryor city limits and then picks right back up just east of Pryor and rolled through Salina.

    Shew! Just had a doozy of a storm in northern Kentucky. Hail, crazy winds, loads of lightning and rain. One of my trees looked like it was bent in half.

    I was at strother's field when the storm hit. was sitting at home watching the stream, got ahold of my dad via a wifi call app and then the power went out and I lost any way to look at the radar. I was sitting in the basement without power for what felt like HOURS but in reality was about 30 minutes waiting for my sister to get home from winfield. Winfield had golf ball size hail in this storm and she was protecting her car. It was a powerless experience as I not only didnt have power because a tree laid an entire pole over, but because I couldnt see the radar in any way because I didnt have internet or anything.

    I was in Aubrey Texas visiting for a wedding during this and was scared out of my mind the entire time this was happening. Thank you for keeping everyone updated, I'm certain you saved lives especially given the fact NWS didn't put out a warning until after the tornado hit.

    It helps so much when I hear the name of the town versus the county because I'm just driving through the State and I Don't Know the counties. That I'm going through.
