LIVE Scalping Session of a Price Action Trader | S&P 500 Eminis

Live trading of S&P 500 ES futures using price action.
The number 1 mistake traders make is they force trades without proper setup development. High probability setups take time to develop and as traders our goal is to master the art of patience. I didn't manage to remain patient throughout the entire day and forced a trade myself. Hopefully this will help you to learn from my mistake. If you keep your composure you can make the trade back quickly on another high probability setup.
Price action describes the characteristics of a security’s price movements. This movement is quite often analyzed with respect to price changes in the recent past. In simple terms, price action is a trading technique that allows a trader to read the market and make subjective trading decisions based on the recent and actual price movements, rather than relying solely on technical indicators.
The only people who know where the market is heading are institutions. They are the ones who make the market move and our job as a retail traders is to follow their footsteps and get the piece of their movement. As a priceaction traders we need to find the most profitable ways to enter trades. The highest probability setups are 2nd entries at the key entry points.

    I admire your patience Thomas. I can read the chart relatively well now, but i am still too impatient and thats where most of my losers comes from. Btw Please make more live trading videos. I find them really helpful watching your thoughts while trading live. All the best!

    Thanks for the videos they really help drive important principles home. If you have time can you please clear up some confusion. You rely on second entries and failed second entries. In your videos where you talk about trend reversals you like to take failed second entries. Especially on range days you talk about waiting for higher highs or higher lows aren't these first entries and not second entries. In each situation does it matter if the bar closes bearish or bullish? Hope you understand what I mean and respond accordingly. Thank you

    Yes in ranges higher lows and lower highs are first entries but those are still good entries because they confirm failed breakouts. Failed breakout is a very strong setup. We wait for bar to close every time and if we sell we want bar to be bearish. Especially when it comes to counter trend entries - fading breakouts and HL/LH, signal bars have to be good.

    Agree with a trader below. Different traders manage runners differently. For me it is worth holding a runner, I have cought some amazing runners and it gives you a nice boost. You will also feel mentally much better. If you are unsure just test it. That is the best way. If you are struggling to catch runners, sticks with scalps for now. If you a trading only couple of contracts then for sure keep scalping all.

    Hey Thomas, good analysis here. Wonder why you though it's a trading range in the pre-market session, when it's a clear downtrend in play all the way from the previous day. Also, what data feed you use? Mine chart is a bit different. Good luck!

    The bearchannel actually played out, if you draw your lines correctly. There is a break and a new low, the new low is the first touch of the support of the anticipated range, that thomas drew. And after the channel played out we can expect a reversal or a correction, and the anticipated range is the correction. I think thats why Thomas is anticipating the range here, that very quickly turns into another bearish channel, after the imbalance.

    I don't use too much from previous day price action so in the current session there way bearish bias but still price was swinging up and down like in a range. I use CQG data provider.

    As an intraday day trader which time frame do you follow .... 1. multi-time frame or single time frame? 2. As a beginner multi-time (5m - 1m) or only 1m is good for me?

    I trade 2000 tick chart. Similar to 1 minute chart. So 1 minute is ok for you. Between 1-5 minute is good for scalping.

    What if the 10k and 2k are giving mix signals? Eg 10k is a red bar on a down trend, but the 2K is forming 2 entry at key entry points?

  • @ThomasWade

    @ThomasWade

    2 жыл бұрын

    2000 tick chart is the main chart where I would take trades. Other timeframes are only for additional confirmation. If 10k is different from 2k chart, that still would not stop me from taking a trade on 2000. There is plenty of room. 10k is very large.

  • @ThomasWade

    I started using 10k chart just recently. The main way I use it is to see if there is a high probability setup. If on 10k chart is a good second entry and key entry point I know I can look for good setups on 2000. I need more time to fully test it though. I don't know which time frame is comparible to 10k.

    8 m - 20 s . Are you logged in to F2ES? To be honest, I saw a failed first attempt down F1ES, and the second F2ES is hard to see. Maybe there was some secret in the recording (hidden recording) or just a trap. Perhaps there was also a 2ES trap for sellers, since at 2ES the price increased by 1 tick. Both sellers and buyers were trapped, in a jam.

  • @ThomasWade

    The one setup that hit the trendline as well. The one before your first trade. It was a high probability setup right? Or you just started trading later after that setup happened

  • @ThomasWade

    @ThomasWade

    Жыл бұрын

    It wasn't high probability setup. It was only first entry short that had uptrend correction in play. High probability setup is form of two legged pullback and we need to follow trendline rule.
