UPDATE : I decided to not make another video about the results. Instead there is a short linked in the description. We were able to climb from 79FPS in Furmark to 91. Temperatures dropped significantly. This is one of the more successful mods that I have done. Also this modded 570 exceed my benchmarks if the 580 and 590 by a hair. With the overclock the RX570 becomes on par with GTX 1060s that I have tested, in multiple benchmarks while still running cool. This was all unnecessary of course, but it just is an example of what is possible. Also do not give me spare time and a bunch of GPUs because this is usually the result. On to the next one!

Thanks for watching. I look forward to more deep dives into forgotten parts. While all of these things might be trash to some, there are others that are just getting and would love to know more.

@@nocturnal2868 I saw a 7970 for sale the other day. I am not a fan of AMD, that is why I rarely buy them. This RX570 was free and I had the other 2 broken cards already, so it made sense to try. I did benchmark a R9 280X which was surprisingly fast, but it sold before I could make an actual video about it. I will also try Vega someday.

I have an rx 570 xfx, even with the undervolt , the temperature remains high. Is it because of the bad thermal paste I put in?

You may want to check it again. But, the RX570 typically has a smaller heat sink. By adding this better one, it really opened up the performance.
