I understand that those segments were filmed 15 - 20 years ago. But I am astonished how low the gifts from the Tzar and other kings were valued. A few thousand pound for jewels most likely to have been produced by Faberge? Considering the history of these pieces I would have thought that their value is much higher.

Unfortunately jewelry valuation goes up and down with the current interest.
I saw the Elizabeth 1 Armada portrait in the Queen's house, Greenwich 2 weeks ago. Nice to hear about it.
OMG - what a fabulous compilation! Each piece shown was very intriguing and top notch. Many thanks for posting this gem.
The turquoise hand and bird was just stunning
I love Fiona Bruce. She has class.
Love seeing the military men protecting their piece. But hearing its valuation at 750,000 pounds you can understand why
The plate contains the arms of Hanover, so it is pre Queen Victoria.

while she was not queen of Hanover, she was by birth "Alexandrina Victoria von Hannover", so she would've been entitled to use the Hanoverian arms

@@phwbooth there are examples of the alliance arms of herself and her husband Albert of Saxe Coburg Gotha on buildings in Tunbridge Wells that show the Hanoverian arms as an inescutcheon. They were married around the same time this plate was made
Not expecting the briefs of Henry the Vlll 😂
The first plate can't be Queen Victoria since it shows the Royal Arms including Hannover. As a woman, Queen Victoria couldn't inherit Hannover.

Hannover could be passed to her children however so perhaps it was actually made by one of her sons in her time.
5:00 You can tell those kids are so done and bored and they just want to go home. Who knows how many hours they had to stand around just to get two books appraised.
I was amazed by the claim that the Grainger porcelain includes a picture of Buckingham Palace. I think the picture is of Wren’s Hampton Court building.

The royal family of Russia came to an unfortunate end - the most English comment ;-)
Those were the days when the visitors to the Antiques Road Show and their antiques were classy , and it wasn't the Fiona Bruce show !

Have you been to the Antique Road Show? When we went in 2014 or 15 she was nowhere to be found - she films her bit and leaves we were told!

@@imlistening1137 It has nothing to do with hate. It is just that she has become increasingly disliked for supporting, and being a mouth piece, for the most corrupt British Government in history.

@@jeanrau5090 Maybe she does, but the later shows are more based on personalities and the cult of celebrity instead of the average person taking their items along for an appraisal.

@@kingy002 oh… do you mean things like supporting that horrible hate-speech law and things like that? I watch a few British and also Irish “you-tubers” and have seen a bit about what’s going down in the UK. I’ll admit that I don’t understand all of it, since I don’t live there, but it kinda looks like the insane ones are running the asylum. Prayers that you get your country back.

Just as well there are plenty of people who don’t want only the “classy” - whatever that means. Sad that so many feel in a position to be judgemental. Almost on a par with “begrudgery”.

KZread comments starting to echo the cesspit of X formerly known as Twitter. I left that platform because of the nasty, off topic comments but here we are, turning a video about antiques into a political debate. So disappointing.

I don't think it's a matter of personal offense with this person, but rather saying that a lot of people are tired of so much contagious and toxic negativity. We go to KZread for the same reason we used to watch TV or go to the theater, to escape people always being hostile and then dismissed when we vocalize our problems with it.

Unfortunately there is nowhere to go to avoid politics these days. They shoved it in our sports, our movies, tv, school, workplace, national monuments. Even the bloody outdoors.
