Usually people don't like paul ricard as a circuit but I have to say that usually it has one of the most interesting races of the whole championship in terms of overtaking and fights for position to be honest.

Wow, the #71 Ferrari was extremely dominant at the end. Great race. However I do agree with Marciello and Gounon's remarks at the end. Almost all the cars in the field were way off the track in a few corners and I never heard much if any track limit warnings. I was kind of surprised in the lack of warnings.

I wonder if, in endurance racing, unsafe release can also mean something else than just releasing a car in path of another. Like, leaving with pit equipment attached, running over a hose or something.

It's an issue they have had for a few years now, it's more evident on those circuits where drivers abuse track limits. From what has been said in the past, they push the rear camber too far giving them fantastic grip, but vulnerability over curves. Just look at how the car grips in Bortolotti's 1st stint, he place's the car where he wants to, while others are compromised to the classic racing line.

Unless its because of sponsors you feel the need to mention rossi every 3 sentences.

This track in particular has a couple corners where the limit stretches beyond the curb. There's three or four tiny markers on the ground that establish the limits for those corners. Though they often get ran over and are hard to see.

Mercedes' problem is that it does not have talented drivers like Rafael Marcello. He is the only one in Mercedes who is able to extract all the potential of the car and is able to put it in the first place. As for the rest of the drivers, their abilities are weak compared to Marcello.

@@StevePhoenix we are not talking Boguslavskiy. Hes not on the AMG factory roster. I agree with you in regards to Gounon being on Marciellos level but I would put Auer Stolz and Engel there too. Also Akkodis runs Gounon and Marciello in one car in the endurance cup. They did so in the race you just commented on ;) I think they have a pretty strong factory roster on the same level as any other manufacturer. There are outstanding drivers for every factory but overall in GT3 the big manufacturers are pretty evenly matched regarding their factory drivers.
