Such a pretty ride and interesting facts about the Spanish Moss Southern Oak Trees. Beautiful! Stay safe if hurricane hits. Make sure everything's charged up, have fresh batteries, shut off sprinklers and keep Gridley away from the windows. I know you know this but I'm a planner so I like to make sure everything's in order. Take care!

For live oaks, old street and buildings, drive North to Micanopy. Marjorie K. Rawlings lived in the swampy area and her home is open for tours. My favorite little old Southern town.

Looks like it was another beautiful day in the Villages. I need to put aside some time on my next visit to bike ride and take in the scenery. Is there somewhere to rent a bike around there?

For sure there is a big bicycle shop that rents a lot of bikes in Brownwood, I think it’s called village cycles. I’ve been in there before they’ll take care of you :)

An interesting tidbit about Spanish Moss that I heard on the History Channel. Spanish Moss lead to the first automotive recall because Henry Ford was using it to stuff seat benches in his first cars, and apparently Spanish Moss is often infested with a certain kind of mite!! 🤢 ew!! Btw how does one get to this park? I'm making a list of places to visit on our lifestyle visit in October.

Interesting! If you’re on the golf cart path at the intersection of 466 and Morse Boulevard on the golf cart path, heading south from the Spanish springs area, before you cross Lake Sumter on the Morse blvd bridge, you’ll pass right by it.

Unfortunately they don’t allow dogs in that specific park, but most of the area around here is dog friendly
