NAONのYAON is an awesome festival in Tokyo, all female rock and metal bands, first held in 1987. The hard rock/metal band SHOW-YA are the founders of the festival and it was Keiko of Show-Ya that introduced Nemophila in this clip!

NEMOPHILA performance on stage is phenomenal. Their bassist Haraguchi-san once said "During our live performances, we want to take the songs to a higher level than on the recorded versions. That is not easy and we are aware of that, but it is something important. Our live shows are energetic, which may cause us to play violently at times!" She is wild on stage and her violent headbang starting at 06:48 is a sight to behold 🤘🏻

They were indeed playing in Japan, more specifically Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall in Tokyo, Japan's Hibiya Park. The Naon no Yaon festival is a women performer only show hosted/produced by the band Show-Ya, who formed back in '81 and are basically the godmothers of the entire Japanese female-centric hard rock/metal scene, their lead singer Keiko Terada was the lady in the red dress introducing the band at the beginning of the video (with several of the younger bands she's described herself as "feeling like a proud auntie") and the drummer, Miki "Mittan" Tsunoda did several cover song videos with Nemophila, whilst their actual drummer Tamu was on maternity leave with her eldest daughter. Naon no Yaon first ran annually from '87-'91 (when Keiko left the band), was revived in '08 (three years after she rejoined) and since '13 has been held every year except '20. There's also a bunch of related gigs/events that's been held under the same umbrella since '99 on top of the festival. Love this song! Very glad your wife joined in, she has a great smile! In Nemophila alone guitarist Saki is in Mary's Blood but that band has gone on hiatus, the other guitarist Hazuki is also in LIsa-X Band and Tamu has a side project or two. NEMOPHILA is the real deal.. I was hooked from the first song I heard I believe it was their cover of diamonds.. T hen RAITEI came out and my blood has been NEMOPHILA blue since.. The one you didn't see before is none other than Tamu murata drum goddess..

Nemophila is considered a super group as a lot of the members came from other bands to form this one.

That's a bold statement considering they inhabit the same country as LoveBites.

Definitely need to do their version of Journeys Separate Ways. Somebody actually here on KZread put the Journey video and the Nemophilia video together side by side. And it's very interesting how you can compare the similarities in real time. The other song I would recommend doing by them. Is a song called One Night Carnival. Don't know the name of the original artist who sang it. But it is a great funky metal poppy sounding tune. Take care stay safe and be well.

Well Rollen is certainly versed in his Japanese Female Shredder/Metal bands these days. Its just so easy to like these varying Japanese bands. Whether it be their audio performances and writing or their Artistic Images and Stage acts. I found so much more Gold just letting KZread Algorithm engine suggest me what is similar that I may like. Haven't found a dud yet and the World Class acts cover All genres and even some we never heard of....Word!

nemophila is a supergroup all 5 members were from different bands the only one i know for sure is Saki the best guitarist in japan yes i said it used to be the guitarist for the band Mary's Blood please let me know what you think
