Tbh, I think a lot of it was the way in which SM wanted her to use her voice. Whatever SM wanted from her for SNSD 90% of the time is not what showed her voice off to the fullest, the way she transformed as a singer and vocalist after leaving SM has made it very clear that she never shined to her full potential under SM. Obviously SM trained her well from what we can see of her in SNSD, but she was only able to fully develop her style after leaving.

@@YuKaKariyu i feel like she probably kept training after leaving SME, maybe got new vocal coach/es in the US, she just got SO much better. She doesn’t sound like she forces the notes out anymore, the way she used to in SNSD, she sound so much more effortless now

Actually all of Mamamoo should be here, they have such unique and beautiful voices... and they sing live but it's good to see Solar here. Lee Hi, Iu and Suzy are also my favorites.

agree but i think it’s good to try and showcase as many idols as they can rather than do a lot from one group imo.

To be fair, 4 gen idols haven’t had as much time to improve as the previous gens have. Plus the standard for live vocals is going up to an unrealistic expectation. I wish that we could hear more live vocals though

@@hfjdjsjs I blame the unrealistic live vocal standards on the heavy use of back tracks and lip syncing it's a viscous cycle they debut weak vocalists that with studio time sound great but who didn't get the live vocal training they deserved, then they drown their live vocals with background tracks and fans expect the perfection they hear. It's too bad really. Cuz so many have potential to be powerful vocalists.

Solar's vocal is so powerful and full of emotions. She's truly one of the best vocalists in Kpop in any generation.

Eunji is the most underrated singer and she is the most amazing here, I just can't understand why people are sleeping on her voice.

She's widely recognized in SK for her vocals. Her song Hopefully Sky and All for you(with Seo in Guk) are really popular. But I agree she deserves more. Its just that she lacks promotions.

Girl all I gotta say she is amazing and only "older" gen fans truly understand because newer fans don't care so vocalist like Eunji and Minah from the girl group girls day are looked over. Its just a disappointment from newer gen fans.

True. Next time I see an upload of a performance of my faves saying LIVE but it's heavily touched-up to the point that it sounds like a studio audio, I'm gonna call the f out of it.

Solar's voice is so powerful and beautiful 😍

One thing kpop should understand is that it's okay if we can hear the idols take breaths between the lines, crack their voices, go out of tune or fall flat. It just makes them human and real. Most of them sound way better that way than the metallic fake autotuned versions of their singing

No one talking about Ailee, the girl is fighting on her own against a company with her great vocals and unmatched talent

Some fun examples (mostly accoustic) of authentic vocal performances that are great. It's really hard to find lives these days with no touch ups.

Oh gosh when the clips of Suzy showed on the screen I nearly cried. I mean you might know how this means a lot to me but it is really is. Suzy's vocals are such a honey one. I'm not only saying this because I love Suzy but because she has an angelic voice that sends comfort to me. Whenever I listen to her voice especially the live ones, it calms me. And I was always like "Woah, this talented woman right here." It's just sad that every skill and talent she has mostly overshadowed by "her pretty face". She's more than just a visual. Thank you! Thank you, really!

​@minisweaterpaws8152 I was watching the video and suddenly suzy?!! (My forever ult who got me into kpop). I knew i loved her voice, but still proud that she has singing talents, too. I remember back in her early days at least a decade ago, talking about being in her dance group probably around her middle school years. She was obsessed with karaoke, but again, it's been so many years, i can't pinpoint the video of her talking about that. I can feel she is happy when she sings. Traditionally actors will have more fame and success with the general public over idols. Idol careers feel short imo (7 year contracts). pretty much every Korean idol achieves their peak popularity in singing in those years. And suzy still releases music, osts even recently, even while in an acting agency not a singing one. I feel there is probably a lot more I can say, but i think it boils down to my appreciation for who she is.

My favourite female vocalists are - Mamamoo, Taeyeon, Eunji, Ailee, Bada, Yuju. They are the strongest vocalists in whole indusrty imho

Appreciated Solar's vocal that always powerfull. So satisfying as always SM surely has many vocalist in the lines, and they always has more than 1 unique voices in a group. And the fact that all of their idols were still improved after debut😌 Even tho i was sad Fany left SM, I am so happy she can show her best now Anw i kinda expected Taeyeon/Hyorin to be here, maybe Taeyeon's Fine performance?
