Just shows the best way to get better at this is to do loads of questions helps you know what to try and spot
if you differentiate the u function, you can factor it down a little (take out a factor of e^-3x) and you can expand the top of the given integral, giving you a cancellation. You basically end up with 1/the u sub and its pretty easy from there

What I would do after finding the du and factoring out the e^-3x, is to multiply the numerator and denominator of the original integral by e^-3x to have du on the numerator. Therefore, we’re left with integral of 1/u which is ln(u)+C.
To simpilfy your integral and intergrate 1+×2-e-³×==S 1/4 dy = 1+in +x²-e-³×

I just multipled the intergral by 1 in the form of e^-3x/e^-3x and everything falls out in 2 lines.

Do you not have to include e^3x in the final answer after dividing by it? Does it not become a factor outside the integral and then multiply back in once it’s integrated
4:01 divide by u on both sides and the integral turns into ∫du/u. Voila!
You wrote the denominator at 5:40. Next two lines were unnecessary.

That is always quicker and easier because in every question u get given, the differential will simplify down. writing e^3x du = x(2-3x)dx and subbing in directly will give u a magical cancellation
Gawd I miss maths.......way too busy doing other stuff yet once my life settles down, high chance I'll take it up again. For anyone who feels bad, I'm in my mid-50s and never got to finish my Maths degree. Might go back just for fun at some later stage....unsure at the present moment
Sir I'm just curious, what is the most effective way to learn from these questions? These videos are very useful but I was just wondering if going over these questions first, getting them right/wrong then watching the video, or just watching these videos, or maybe taking down some notes as the video goes along is best; or a combination of these? How can I learn a lot from these tricky questions to improve my revision?

if the question says to use provided substitution, you must use it. He defo overcomplicated some bits but you cant just reverse chain rule
It is probably one of the easiest questions I found. Bro do a jee advanced/jee main integral which is supposed to be done by high school students in India. Please try that in your next video.

You made this a lot more convoluted than it needs to be. If you take the integrand and multiply both numerator and denominator by e^(- 3x), the numerator becomes xe^(- 3x)(2 - 3x)dx, which equals du, and the denominator becomes 1 + x^2e^(- 3x), which is u. So the whole integral simplifies to just (1/u)du, which of course is just ln|u| + C
