Don’t you find his argument hilarious at 23 minutes in where he says the Palestinians want a one state solution, one where they rule over the other side. Sounds kind of exactly like the Likud charter no? “Only Israeli sovereignty from the river to the sea”. Interesting he doesn’t bring up that netenyahu has stated repeatedly he doesn’t want a two state solution ever. It’s interesting how the criticism seems to come only to one side while the glaring comparison is never made.

I just found myself in the messed up surreal situation of arguing with my 92 yr old holocaust survivor grandmother, who has been living in Israel since 1949. She cannot look away from the pain of the Gazans. She remembers Israel of the 50s-80s of having relatively good neighborliness. She can't look away from the fundamentalist West Bank Settlers stirring up hatred. She only wants us to be the good guys. End the War. Promote friendship and collaboration. In what world do I have any right to agrue with her? I want those things too. But there is no path to them with Ham@s in power.

I don't think it's an outrageous position to say that Iz could've handled this more to their advantage through peace. If they had gone to Saudi Arabia and demanded normalization and an Arabic coalition peace keeping force in Gaza on the condition of Ha-'s complete surrender and the release of all hostages -- they probably could've benefitted themselves more. But it's hard to tell people who've just been victimized in that way to stand down, especially when they have the strength to respond.

I agree with your discussion on Tom Freidman. All of your points about his journalism are spot on. I would like to mention that Dennis Ross gave a logical, equitable suggestion about the “Day After” on a Haaretz podcast in January 2024. He acknowledged that it would not be a day after solution, more likely it would be a year or two year day after and it would consist of a coalition of Arab countries, rather than the PA. In this podcast, you pointed out the difficulties of that approach, but at least it is a stab at normalcy that is divorced from those promoted by a Tom Freidman, UN, EU countries who have “no skin” invested.

Unfortunately for them, the Palestinians have fallen victim to the sunk cost fallacy. They’ve already lost so much land, they might as well keep fighting on the chance they get it all. 29:04 I make this point over and over to anti-Zionists when they make a comparison with Algeria. Just like the French, they claim, the Jews will go back to where they came from. When I make the point they will never “go back” because they were outsiders in every other land, never mind the Mizrahi who can never return to ME countries for obvious reasons, they simply cannot admit this to themselves.

In Israel you can have a minority express itself -- a large percentage of people in Israel disagree with the netanyahu policy in the West bank, and what happens is a matter of politics which can swing between right and left wing. The swing towards right wing happened in Israel mostly in response to the second intifada in the 2000s, but it is reversible. On the Palestinian side there is no such thing, and if you look at the history of attempted negotiations between the two sides, you will see that is the problem.

Truly is like living in lala land, and they can’t even bring up the other sides argument in a good way throughout. You just need someone on the other side that can chime in with “but you know you’re ignoring this.” But it just becomes an echo chamber when they don’t have someone from the other side on. Even the usual 3/4 on 1 is better than this

At this moment, The United States of America are YEARS ahead the world on AI, quantum computing, cold fusion, advanced robotics, drones, space travel, satellites, moon bases, reaching Mars, self driving cars, biotech, genetics, advanced semiconductors, and internet/communications technology. We patrol the worlds oceans with 11 nuclear powered Super Carriers and are building three more. We are building a global wifi network. We spend more on our military than the next 10 nations combined. We have two six thousand mile wide moats on either side of nation, and our top two trading partners are our only two physical neighbors. We export oil, we export steel, we export natural gas, we export food. Lets make something extremely clear: We. Answer. To. No. One. Got it?

There is so much wrong with what this guys says. I am all about having different viewpoints on this podcast. But if you are going to push back on pro-Palestine guests when they cherry pick information, then you have to do the same with pro-Israel folk. I understand there are different views when it comes to something like Camp David and who said what etc. But something like Gaza post 2005….its indisputable the sanctions, border restrictions, targeted killings, bombing campaigns, etc.

Suggest you don't use the term "Indisputable" if you want to be taken seriously. So Israel leaving Gaza was the right thing to do but border security is not okay. Hamas firing rockets on Israeli civilians is resistance (to what exactly??) but IDF targeting rocket launchers and Hamas commanders is genocide.. always double standards when it comes to Israel - suddenly so many people lose any sense of reality.

@@kelvinlong2742 You've got things backwards. After decades of Palestinian terrorism, how could you expect Israel to simply withdraw and leave the border unguarded? And then Hamas took over Gaza - with their express aims to destroy Israel, and their rockets etc. Sorry, but if you constantly attack and threaten to destroy your neighbor - your neighbor is gonna do what it can to prevent you from importing the means to do so.
