I go to feel attunement with animals, pets and nature. Put with people it´s difficult and most time not feel safe. But even just framing shut down and trauma as intelligence gives me so much grace, releasing shame.

From my understanding, and from an Adlerian psychology point of view, attunement and connection are other words for our deeply rooted need to belong to humanity, nature and the cosmos. We can‘t give up wanting to belong because it’s our existential need. Without belongingness we wouldn’t BE, but we are. It’s in the 3D as well as spiritual.

During potentially trauma inducing ongoing events, witnessing by someone from the outside supports or may even hold the space of witnessing from the inside for those overwhelmed. If folks involved in the harmful events were fully aware (in witness) of what was unfolding they would all stop and shift gears, whether politicians, military, police, offenders, teachers, therapists, religious leaders, etc.. Being able to stop and see the truth unfolding takes a great deal of courage and determination. Most of us haven't practiced enough to bear the full weight without making up stories that buffer the pain.

I find that when I am actively more grateful for the resonance the residue is less sticky. It is most sticky with my mother relationship - the one that still requires the most healing. I thank you both for your experience and wisdom, your work in support of my 'personal work.' Aware of my own awareness and the allowance to meet others where they are at with loving compassion is the growing grace of the shifting human consciousness one heart at a time IMHO💖

Thich Naht Han spoke often about “inter-being.” Some of their conversation reminds me of that thought and other sentiments of his. Also, as Gabor Mate’ stated in part, indigenous First Nation peoples have an animistic approach to life that includes all of creation as well a the human collective. In order to move forward it’s becoming more obvious that we need to respectfully integrate that perspective into human life if this planet is to survive and thrive.

Yes, relationships - especially romantic ones, can be a spiritual practice. I have always thought, in some ways a more challenging spiritual path. Practicing in silence is one thing, practicing in action in relationship is another........

Thank you guys. Love both of you somehow. A deeper look into individual experiences inside a collective were missing. Many many people get excluded by collectives. Also no female authors were mentioned. All in all nothing new was developed in this conversation. Disappointing for two leading men in the fields.
