Adam get one of those poles with a red flag like they use in the desert so boats can see you if you are behind a swell or something. You are the smallest thing floating besides the kelp. A boat can run you down before they can see you. One of those blaze orange flags is just some insurance to make you more visible.

Adam thanks for your great videos. I wanted to ask you a question unrelated to this video. I know you are using a drone for some of your videos. I want also to get one and to add this addition to my channel. I’m wondering how hard/easy is it to control the drone from the kayak? Kayaks are not staying in one place. Especially to land the drone back. I know the drone has a self landing setting but i guess this is only if you are staying fixed on location. Also how manageable is it to keep it all dry? Thanks David

It is definitely tricky from a kayak. I have seen it done but I am running all my shots from dry land for now. Especially in the ocean, it has to be super calm to make it doable.

It would be cool if you could include some underwater footage of lingcod or halibut in their natural habitat even if not footage you shot. Seeing how they hide, hang out or even hunt. I live in Florida and these species are total mystery to me. Even if "borrowed footage " you could narrate and describe behaviors.

I didn't see how the trailer was used, was it in the bait or free running? I have done ok with both but usually have the trailer in the tail fin. You have caught a lot more then I have so I would like to know. Also, years ago I used to slip the hook through the gills and out the mouth to keep the bait alive longer. I don't see anyone doing that these days?? Do you know of any reason that method isn't used any longer??
