I’ve seen this video several times . I still believe that the public there didn’t completely realize how privileged they were on this particular day .

In tears through the entire performance. This band got me through my troubled high school years. I will never forget you guys or your impact on a shy, misfit teen. Thank you!

after 53 years I have realised that Simple Minds are the only band that makes me cry when i listen to their music - well done guys!

how pure, small is the new big. Only two guitars and the comforting voice of jim. I am impressed

They still sound fantastic . !!! Who's loving simple minds in 2020... edit.. mid 2021 , now its 2022 still loving simple minds. (Always will) This music will never grow old. I pray with all this covid those that see this will get to listen in 2023 and beyond. ❤

Fantastic footage of a classic band, how cool is Charlie on guitar!! And as for Jim he still got it after all those years! One of my all time favourite bands :-)

If this gig doesn't confirm our love and need for music, nothing will.

Aww they're amazing. Especially live.. I'm in Glasgow so I was lucky enough to see them but that was back in 2002 when I was 22..would love to see them again.. They're from Toryglen which is about 5mikes from me. x

What a great performance, what a special moment when Jim talks emotionaly touched about the losses in their families and the dedicated song to all of them.

Does this just show you how warm and down to earth they are ........ awesome guys

From playing mega stadiums to that wee room but Jim and co give it 100% every time they play. Best band ever. Didn't realise Jim's brother was so talented either. They can come and play in my living room any time they like. 🤩🤩

You and me both....

Most bands you go and see are just entertainment, but simple minds always feel like a real treat, that was a really nice little set, special. And they are such warm amazing guys to watch, not ashamed to say honest town choked me up a tad, knowing what it was actually about. Cant wait for there tour.

Now that was just brilliant, period! Stadium rock in acoustic form, absolute magic, thanks to all who made this possible.

Unplugged and live there is no hiding place ! Brilliant Scottish talent - I was at their NG Dream tour gig in Dundee in 84. It was unforgettable.

Just demonstrates how talented this band is... not that anyone needed reminding!

Honest Town up there with Mother Glasgow and with the story behind it brings an equal tear to your eye, superb Jim, Charlie and Mark.

wow wish I could have been at that gig! Fabulous band, creative, exciting and dramatic compared to those of their contemporaries at the time. They have brought a lot of enjoyment to many people that they will never meet or ever know about. Love em!

Being away from Glasgow like these boys can be hard at times. But once a " Weigie" always a "Weigie". You can feel the emotion in Honest town because its so encapsulates Glasgow and it people. Lang may your lum reek!

Jim Kerr looks like a Giant Red but he's still one of the most inspired singer on earth thanks for all these fantastic emotions ! ;) However, Honest Town is a pleasant track but it reminds me Running up that hill from Kate Bush, you can't avoid other inspirations after so many great years of real creativity (Stars Will Lead the Way was absolutely a classic !!)

Generally not a huge fan of 'major rock band does an acoustic set' - however it has to be said that SM doing something acoustic has been long overdue and this was absolutely top drawer stuff. Hearing Charlie playing acoustic again was delightful, Jims vocals sounded better than ever and kudos to him for getting through Honest Town, I had to reach for a hanky myself. Wonderfully intimate venue, some really lucky folks in the audience. To the guy who called for 'I Travel' for the last acoustic song, haha now theres a challenge and a half!

A fine example of how great musicians can sound colourful and emprevisiational is that a word u no what I mean in a relaxed environment

first time i saw simple minds was milton keynes bowl 86. blistering hot day and an amazing line up including the bangles, the cult and a few others.

just shows what great down to earth guys they really are,new album a masterpiece,see u in bridlington and sheffield.
