Linguistic anarchist here. Most of our language "rules" were artificially introduced to discriminate against various classes. "Vulgar" language was really just Saxon words spoken by the peasantry instead of the French words spoken by the Norman nobility. 19th century gentry tried to remove the double negative (which is perfectly acceptable in every language), the singular they and claiming "ain't" to be improper (rather than a perfectly acceptable dialect).

I heard you say Springfield, Missouri when you mentioned visiting bass pro. I just took my grandson there a couple weeks ago. Do you live in that general area?

I'm a rookie suffering from information overload! I am so glad I found your channel. I am planning out a 10 gallon tank. The hardscape and plants are easy (I have the advantage of being an artist and gardener). Choosing stock however is giving me migraines! Just when I find something I like, I hear that they are fussy from one person and easy from someone else. They will only eat premium live food, when someone else says they eat flakes! I found a cookie cutter stocking list from Aquarium Co-Op and came up with a stocking plan that according to them is a good plan: 1 honey gourami, 6-8 neon green tetras, 6 pygmy corys. But then somone else says that won't work. Honestly, how does a newbie know what is right when you have so many different opinions from hobby "experts"? What do you think?

@@PrimeTimeAquatics Bless you! Now I just need to get the tank set up, cycled, and running before trying to find someplace around here that stocks those fish. ❤💕

Hello there! Thank you for the great content in you channel. I recently got a 6.6 gallon tank and it’s building up algae after only 2 days. I used Aqua Natural Galaxy Sand Bio-Substrate as well as regular tan sand and gravel on top.. not sure if that’s not a good thing. I have a few live plants and one betta.. any suggestions/ recommendations?

I have a 55 and would like to have Congo tetras, a pair of electric blue akara, and some type of gourami (leaning toward pearl), some Cory’s, and a pleco. Does that sound like it will work?

Hi there! I'm case I miss the live stream tonight I wanted to ask a few questions here. Have you ever encountered a type of algea or fungus or some kind of life form that grows like a root and branches off and up and all through your canister filter or even your aquatic decorations? It looks like root veins and has little spores and extremely tough to scrub off. I have no idea what it is!! Next question, is it ok to separate mating pairs of angels fish? I have 2 pairs but want to separate them so they all stop having babies. Will that hurt or depress them? My next issue.... have you ever ran across a situation when starting a new aquarium (125 gallon planted) and your water will not start to cycle and just stays a vat of ammonia and that ammonia just keeps getting worse and worse and even kills any plants in the water? I have lost fish to this issue and have no idea what to do. I have been able to start new cycles before using cycled filter media and water and have used products like Fritzeme 7, Quickstart, Seachem Stability and Prime and Microblift water conditioner and nitrifying bacteria in all my new start ups...( not all at once) but this situation seems different because nothing works!! Ammonia was like a 4ppm...emerald green color when testing. I've done water changes and removed all fish and put them in my other cycled tanks. For some reason, this tank does not want to cycle. What am I doing wrong? Does ammonia have the power to actually overpower the nitrification process to the point of no return? Ok, that's what I have so far that I can remember. Left my note book at home...(I'm at work listening to this stream again) ok, hopefully I'll be up still for the stream tonight Thank you!!😊

I haven't seen that type of growth you are describing? You can definitely separate the pairs. As for the uncycled tank. I just give it whatever time it takes (assuming there is no planted substrate in the tank that is causing the ammonia spike). Try some Fritz Turbo Start? Good luck!

@@PrimeTimeAquatics are you able to get pictures? I can take a picture of the growth next time I clean my canister. That's usually where it starts. It looks like a vein/root growing up the sides of the canister media baskets. It's really strange.

@@PrimeTimeAquatics and would a planted substrate cause an ammonia spike?
