Yeah, it's so neat to view through the actor's eyes, seeing how wonderful the acting work was for him, not just the celebrity stuff, but a true actor, and none of that afraid to or don't bother watching his own work or himself in the piece.

I was 7 when Little house started in 1974. The story lines on Little House were never rushed or hurried. The Sentiment was off the chain. The Musical score was beautiful and as inportant as the acting and both were right on. Dean Butler is a stand up guy and they picked the right one to be Almanzo.

Dean was perfectly cast as Almanzo Wilder. He played the part well, endearing Almanzo to the viewers. He was playing a role that was ten years older than Laura but he played it so innocently, sweet and romantically dorky that the viewers forgot the big age difference. Had he played it differently, I dont think it would have worked. He did it so well he made the show's fans love him too.

I held out for decades. I’m so glad I waited and watched all the seasons starting with season one to the very end and into the last two movies in order. What a beautiful experience. It’s sad that we don’t have quality entertainment anymore. I hope no one ever tries to remake this show because they would fail miserably.

I think they do but realized "reality shows" were cheaper, cheap thrills for a certain demographic and why bother with shows like LHOP or ER or MASH or anything that takes time and effort to write. You slowly saw the changes on TV and that's why many like myself just have an antenna now, why bother. Streaming isn't perfect but except for Call the Midwife on PBS, there aren't many shows worth watching.

It was all Michael Landon. There was no "We" did it this way or "we" made this scene work becsuse . . . It was a success then and continues today ONLY because of Michael Landon's vision and his genius. Dean Butler has said this many times but this was edited on such a way that ML is just casually mentioned. There would be no 50th anniversary celebration had it not been for Michael Landon. Never forget thst. ❤

And let's not forget Karen Grassle's book where she related that Michael said,"Women smell really bad down there". This is when they were filming the bedtime scenes on a male dominated set. And let's not forget thst Michael Landon is the ONLY person in Hollywood who EVER gave her a decent acting job. Or have I missed something? And why did she stick around for 9 years? ML was known to have a sick sense of humor. Most of his co-stars laughed about it. But she chose to sensationalized it to make some money. And now during the 50th anniversary tour she can make some money by saying GOOD things about him. What does that say about HER? Still making a living thanks to Michael Landon . Hmmmm

And all these years later, anyone who worked with him THEN - Dean Butleir, Matt and Pat Labyorteaux, Melissa and Allison all say he had a wicked sense of humor. One of the funniest people they ever knew. And he told jokes that were gross and probably inappropriate but they weren't offended by them. And truth be told if he were alive today he would probably be embarrassed and apologetic. We have all had an education regarding this kind of humor over the past 20 years. He still was the ONLY Hollywood person who hired her and gave her the best and only acting opportunity of her entire career. So what is the point? What is the take away? He wasn't perfect but he was responsible for 2 wonderful life affirming family shows that are still watched by millions of people all over the world. Thousands of people are celebrating him and his LHOP , including K Grassle - at the 50th anniversary celebrations. So what is your point?

one of the greatest tv shows ever. Very American, very very family oriented. It surely captured the pioneering years in the South. My favorite episodes that made me cry was the Laura Ingalls Wilder Part i and II. It still makes me cry watching those two episodes. Love is best described in that two episode story. The lie Elaine Jane Wilder made to enable her brother Almanzo marry Laura is so touching. She would not let hers and Almanzo's hearts be broken at the same time, She saved the day to make love win in the end. She was heartbroken with Harves but she would not allow her brother and Laura suffer the same heartache. It was honorable and gracious of her. That is family love. and that is the essence of this great tv show. Michael Landon was a terrific story teller. and the main actors were terrific in giving life to his story.

That wasn't a right hook!!! that was a left hook. His right arm was in a sling. Sorry but would you get your story straight!! That was also a different wagon and Laura was nowhere in sight that I can tell. Totally different scene !!!! and that was not a team, that was one horse. What are you talking about?? I grew up on Little House, I appeared in Little House as an extra and rode horses all over the Little House ranch. But please edit your footage or change the story :-)

Really? That's just silly and not an honest response. She is a major NOBODY in Hollywood EXCEPT for this role. And NOBODY in the Me 2 movement, which I fully support, sued anyone for telling lewd jokes .
