    I had people talking about junk journals, even watched a few tutorials. Then I heard people were using the Golden Books. Until I watched your video on making one, I was not really inspired, but after this tutorial/share. Your daughter must have loved this gift, being this is a few years old. I enjoyed very much. I will have to give a try, and see what I can come up with. Always a pleasure to watch your shares. Thank you Lolly, all my best, Jennifer

    I love that you kept the book pages whole. I don’t have the heart to change the look of the original Golden Books. I was given several of them and this looks like the best way for me to make them a journal. I think I’ll add drawing and watercolor paper in mine. Thank you so much!😁

    If you take everything to a printshop they can trim the spines with a power paper cutter along with all the extra pages and drill and bind them for you - It would probably cost $2 - $4 a book which seems very cost-effective considering how much trouble you go through to get this done - Your inventory would increase along with your profit and you would have more time to spend on the creative fun part of the project - I always did it to my textbooks because it made them easier to reference -

    I love this! It seems as if each adult has a favorite Disney character/story. My only issue is the cost of the Cinch machine and bristles (Is that the right word?). I would have to sell a lot of journals in order to justify the cost. I have seen others, especially Lizzi Brewer use this method. You make great items, with easy, common terms (except bristles! HAHAHA) to describe your steps. Keep up the good work, you clever woman!

  • @KellysCreativeDreams

    @KellysCreativeDreams

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes, Lolly is correct. They are binding coils. There are 3 or 4 different styles. Once you start making journals/ albums you may find you use the binding machine more than you think. If you have a local scrapbook store, see if they have one in their work room you can test out. Always keep an eye out for ebay. Coupons for Michaels and Hobby Lobby are also good options. Also look for buy/ sell/ trade on Facebook. Someone may have purchased one and no longer use the machine. Our crafting styles go in waves lol. I cringed at first and while I don't use mine a lot, I am glad I made the purchase. Creative Blessings!

  • @LollyPalooza

    it's easier and it uses less coil material. Many crafters do this. Also, the machine does allow for matching up holes to the previous line of holes and repunching, but it also adds another element of risk of failure, punching two sets of holes instead of one.

    Super cute! I'm a Disney fan and somewhat collector so I did cringe a bit when you started cutting up the books..all over it now and scheduling a trip to my 2nd hand store to check out their books. Blessings, Tree

    Hi Lynn. I've done reading and there seems to be conflicting ideas on 'copyright'. Technically, you are not copying but then there is the whole 'resale' thing. However, if you reselling them is a copyright infringement how can we purchase them at garage sales/ thrift stores and etsy. From my point of view, I don't think there is going to be a big stink from Disney or Golden unless you are mass-producing them. Just my opinion. I hope that helps. Creative Blessings
