The fact that this movie was all made in real scenarios and no green screens. Filmed in such a way that you can pause the movie at any time and you get an image that's like a piece of art. No dumb romanticism like Hollywood, no s*x scenes, no dudes shirtless, no women with their clothes casually ripped to show the boobs. Violent and cruel, sad, with a cold end, again no dumb shit like in Hollywood. The places and the feeling of the soldiers, the way one can emphasize with them. When I finished the movie I felt it was a year long, in the good way, I remembered the first scenes as if they happened to me years ago. I usually don't like movies, but this one, I loved it.

It's heartbreaking reading about the soldiers experiences from all of the countries involved because they were the ones who truly knew that the "enemies" they were k*lling were also victims of their leaders decisions and that the war was anything but a glamorous battle as people who weren't fighting thought.

This movie was amazing. While it showed a solider and his background in war watching his friends one by one die in war, it also shows the bad side of war. The dark side. Many think war is conquering and such, yet you wouldn't understand unless you participate in it. War is bad. The world may come to an end. Ended by mankind themselves. Nukes dropped onto the face of the earth. We do not take care of what we have been given...

Most soldiers thought that war would be an adventure and get them to see the world because of the insane amounts of propaganda that was used by both sides. Also, ww1 was a war in which they used modern weapons with old tactics. Most people didn't know how destructive the weapons were, since the last major European war happend in 1871, alot of technogy changed. This wasn't your gentlemen warfare where you stand in a line and shoot at the enemy, this was survival of the fittest.
