But Ponyta/Rapidash will only immolate you if they don't trust you, if they like and trust you their flames won't burn. Unlike Breaky who just incinerates everything she comes in contact with no matter what.

That's just the Pokemon anime/game's logic. I said IRL as in real life. If Ponyta/Rapidash existed in reality, their fire would just burn someone regardless because...it's fire! XD Then again, Pokemon also has a Meowth that can talk like humans and a carp that evolves into a sea serpent, so...take it as you will... ^^;
