Great words...it makes me think about the 37 years I spent with her...now she's gone to Heaven (almost 6 years ago) and I miss her...I wish I could hold her again and tell her how much I loved her and miss her...something I didn't do much as the years passed. This song and "Better Man" bring back so many memories of how I could have been better for her and a better man. If you are going to be in a relationship, tell your spouse/partner what it means to you. Tell them every day. If you do not, time will pass and you will drift apart. Hold hands, hug, kiss, cuddle...yeah it sounds like teenage stuff but I so envy seeing older couples holding hands, obviously still much in love and still telling their significant other what their feeling are. Ok, enough. Back to music.

I try every day to remind my husband how much he is loved, and he does the same for me. When I heard this song, I held him and begged him to promise to always find each other, even on the hardest days. He was taken aback because he said he thought we did. Then I made him listen to this song and we cried together and agreed. I couldn't imagine your pain sir. Just the thought, makes my heart ache. I hope you find peace and that you were together for that time, however short. I'm sure she knew how she was loved, even if you feel you didn't do enough.

30 years Ive given myself to one man. I no longer get a side of the bed. I’ve found myself on the edge. I’m still holding on though by gripping the mattress. There’s nights when I just want to roll off, but I know I’ll fall. I don’t understand why he was never there to catch me. He once told me something during his time of infidelity, it haunts me to this day. He said, “I found the person I’ve been looking for all my life.” She was his person, not me! Every day when I look in the mirror I hate that girl looking back at me. In 30 years I was not the one? I wasted half my life in a big lie. I’m past lonely now. It’s more of a zombie feeling. When Little Big Town first came out, with one hit, I ran and got the CD. I knew they were going big. I was singing these songs before they were put on radio. I still, love this group and always will. Real heartfelt voices. Thank you LBT.

This song is still dope, it is one of those that you can hear 20yrs later and still appreciate.

Love this band. Every thing they sing is amazing

This was the song that introduced me to this hugely talented band and I had hoped to hear it live at a recent concert in Scotland as it's still one of my favourites. Sadly it wasn't on the set list but they are fantastic live musicians and singers and it was a memorable night.

Don't cry. I don't mean to sound abrupt but if he doesn't turn over and hold you then he's either tired or just not knowing what to say. Save those tears because a year will go by and you'll still be in the same mindset. Don't play games but don't let him see you upset. Ask why he's gaslighting you. This song came out after my husband and I experienced our first miscarriage (of 5) in an our attempts to add a third child to our family. We almost fell apart after each loss it was hard on us, we don’t cope with grief the same way and this song hit me so hard through those very difficult times. We were so disconnected. I have no idea how we pulled through all of that heart ache. But here we are going on 14yrs together and this year we’ll be our 10th wedding anniversary.

One of the reasons I love this genre, so many great songs that hit a chord within your heart.

I am so sorry for all of the hurting hearts out there. I am now in your ranks too. The worst pain that there is. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am sorry to hear of so many sad stories, I feel for you all. As for me? It's quite different. My wife died after preventive surgery. Was brought back after 7 minutes, unfortunately, suffering a severe stroke. I am her full-time caretaker. For the last two years, she has worked diligently to remember what we once had. These days we throw around these stupid words like avoidant personality, narcissist, and so on..when in reality, relationships are hard, not perfect, life isnt perfect, and the flame cant always burn as hot as we would hope. In reality, relationships and life, are full of ups and downs, the hardest part is coping with how you both react to conflict and feeling unheard. What truly matters, is how you work together to keep the relationship strong even though you know that in reality relationships are hard.

This song came out the same year as my divorce. Only a month after, actually. I did not want it, but I'm stronger now. Between this and Sara Evans "Little Bit Stronger" I have slowly grown away from the love that will always be in my heart. He was my first love, my first lover, and the father of my only child. I will always care about him, in a special way. But he hurt me so much, wouldn't listen to me or anyone, and now he is living a horrible life. I pray for him but I can't love him again. This song hurts deep in my heart, though.

Not married, but what I’ve learned about relationships is really easier said than done, and that’s communication. You don’t say how you feel, you put a strain in the relationship. As a man, I took the liberty of getting the help I needed to be a better man for the current girl I’m with. My point, sometimes a man or woman needs to have that courage to get the help they need before getting into a relationship, if they need it of course. Learn about yourself, some people don’t know who they are till they start talking. I hope all of you who have been in that lonely period find something or someone that you love unconditionally and never feel alone again.

This is such a sad comment. I have been married to my H.S. girlfriend for 32 years now and I adore my wife. Literally everything about her does something for me. She is the most important thing in my life. Every woman deserves to be treated like she is the most important person in the world by her man. If your man puts himself or other things before you then thats a problem you need to address with him. But do address it. Let your man know how his behavior makes you feel and at least give him the opportunity to improve the situation. I know lots of guys that thought their women were happy until it was too late and then they are surprised by how bad they were once you hold a mirror up to them.

Yeah James you are right. I'm the only one who likes country music in my family!! TERRIBLE! My sister doesn't even understand it. She's like "ok. Ok. Get this. There's this song called bartender. There's no meaning there." And I'm the youngest person in my family but some how I have a more mature soul then my sister. And she doesn't even listen to any lyrics! No one understands!!! :(

not only little big town is the best vocal group on the planet Karen and Kimberly are the prettiest girls in country music today hands down

Anybody that's ever been married for any length of time can relate to this song there will be some problems but we have to remember our vows we promise for better or worst and God said we must stick to our spouse trust me he knows best they were only 2 perfect people so don't look for perfection

this is what life is about the changes we all go through good and bad country music is wrote from the heart and everyday life

Paula Cambell, I know exactly what you went through and I'm still going through it! Yes, it's the worst feeling in the world when your husband betrays you. Your love is betrayed, your trust is betrayed, honesty, commitment, your whole life is betrayed. And for some reason no matter how much time passes, it doesn't get any better! My ex husband now, because of the betrayal, to this day he doesn't understand why I can't forgive him. He broke my ❤ heart and I'm broken too. I know what you mean 100% girl. Years later I listen to this song and it makes me wonder. Could I have tried a little harder? When I see how easy you moved on I know the answer is no. I'm glad we are both free but I still love you and I know you won't ever feel that way. I hope you are happy at least one of us got that.

But I accept the evolution of change.I say this because I have not listened since 05-07 when they had that kick ass 1st hit boondocks&girl.But I can see where you can feel their inner beauty.

Her voice is great and his. And sound great together..he got that great sound when hear voice u know it's him. Love it

My husband and I was going through a Hugh misunderstanding he thought I was cheating on him, when this song come out. I was listening to this song laying in bed, I got up went to the spare bedroom and said, You can come back to our bed face this and deal with it or pack your bags and leave, it is over with. He came back to our bed 5 minutes later we worked it out and are stronger then we every were before. I owe that to this song....
