    Thank you so much for this. I never realized that the top part had clips in the back. Putting those in first and flexing the others seemed to have done the trick for me! A million thanks for this helpful video!

    Spent a good part of today cleaning, returning to KZread links on this product, trouble shooting again until we stumbled on THIS video which made all the difference! Those tabs at the back is exactly where we were going wrong. Thanks, David. Very happy family of away-on-vacation family members who usually drive this thing!

I am super stoked...I thought the unit was needing to be sent in for service. Sure enough the way I was attaching the bonnet, The back clips were not in place and in the grooves. Genius! THANK YOU!!!

    Awesome review!!! I love the real world use! Even when you went to go empty the litter you showed us what the unit looks like instead of cleaning everything up for the video review. I then appreciate you letting it get dirty, not filling enough litter etc because let's face it that's how a lot of us will be so busy that we won't always be able to perfectly manicure the unit and will have to deal with this sort of cleaning at some point. Seriously, thank you for this!

    Thank you for your video. I was having the "blinking yellow light" issue w/my 16 month old Litter Robot Open Air. I took apart box (for the 1st time) & gave it a good cleaning per your instructions. I bent the outward the side brackets out like you did in the video. No more "studder"" as the glove turns. The bonnet "stapped" right into place. Once I clean off the anti pitch bar, added a little oil to the metal pins on both the anti pitch bar as well as the metal pieces on the base, no more "blinking yellow light." So glad I found your video prior to calling LR Customer Support. I am now a happy camper..YIPEEEEE!!!!!!

    Inward (opposite direction of what you’d do with the side plastic tabs). Didn’t actually bend them, just sort of gently nudged so that when the bonnet went back on, there would be more pressure between the contact points on the bonnet and the contact points on the base of the unit.

On there website I was informed to turn in a service ticket and they would contact me via email in 3 business days. 3 days later I receive an email informing me that I needed to order some parts to fix my issue and should watch a video to install those parts. What if I didn’t have the technical or physical ability to make these repairs on my own? Considering how much I paid for this thing and all the promises made about how wonderful there product is I’m very disappointed to say the least.

  • @bermand

    5 жыл бұрын

    Tiger Lilly washing with a hose isn’t necessary, I have gone with a spray and wipe method a couple times. it’s a matter of tolerance I think. I’m not sure it’s a great idea to really spray it down though since any water trapped in the filtering area for the litter could cause caking and jamming and balancing issues if you aren’t super careful about drying it out.

    So you're flexing those tabs outward so that when the bonnet is getting nudged up and down while the globe is rotating, that contact is kept on the pins? If that's the issue, a couple pieces of thin strapping tape would probably be an equivalent fix. I'm surprised those tabs didn't snap, you bent them really far!

  • @bermand

    @bermand

    5 жыл бұрын

    It's to prevent slippage. Some tape might be good too, but I haven't needed it. The plastic is quite flexible and when I do a cleaning every month or two, I just flex the tabs. Haven't had further issues in quite some time. February-March 2019 is gonna be the 3 year anniversary of the purchase and since I figured out these things I showed in the videos, I haven't had repeat problems at all in many months.

    When you describe "stuttering" does this mean that the cycle will fail halfway through and fail to rotate back to the original position? I'm having an issue where my robot will stop when it's upside down and will try to go back to center, but stops and restarts and does this repeatedly until it gives up and my robot is left upside down until I fix it by pressing a bunch of buttons on the robot and app till it works again. Got any advice for intermittent flashing red? It happens randomly. Not all the time. Cat will go in, do it’s business, exit, light is solid red as it should be, then half way through the 7 minute “waiting time to cycle”, it starts flashing red. No one or no cat has touched it or re-entered.

    "A red LED flashing indicates that the Cat Sensor has been continuously activated for 2 minutes or more either from a cat that won't leave the Globe, or from too much weight in the unit caused by overfilling with litter." I personally haven't seen this problem, but I imagine if you have too much litter in there it would be possible to have it going off. Do you fill above the level line and what type of litter are you using?

  • @mistydog3

    I use clumping clay litter and fill to about 1” below the line (otherwise they kick it out) so it’s not too much litter. I had thought of that. I’ve also been having the stuttering issue too. Realized my hood was not clipped in right. But still stuttering. Does bending the side clips make that much of a difference? Im afraid to break them 😬

    I don't suppose you have a suggestion for an issue of the robot being stuck on an orange unblinking light, not responding to anything (even the power button)? I've tried dismantling and putting back together the CPU. The bottom sensors appear to be fine. Unfortunately I brought mine 11 months ago from a UK former international partner of Litter Robot and the company went bust a few months ago. I even brought 18 month extended warranty, but the company are uncontactable and I'm stuck with a broken robot. I've tried waiting in the queue to speak with litter robot in the US but the international calls have already cost be a fortune! Sorry for the ramble, I'm a bit stuck!

  • @bermand

    @bermand

    3 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure exactly, but I presume it is either red or yellow blinking. There is no orange per say. www.litter-robot.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screen-Shot-2020-06-30-at-11.24.56-AM-900x574.png is a photo of the quick reference guide. If it's more red it means probably the cat sensor pressure piece is stuck in the closed position. If it's more yellow then your bonnet contacts on the left side aren't connected properly. It's better to go through the customer service though if you need a replacement. I don't work fo litter robot, just like their product. Haven't ever experienced whatever yours is doing so might be needing a replacement. I wouldn't have recommended per say dismantling the whole unit and trying to fix it yourself. Good luck!

    We had a lot of issues with blinking yellow light, it kept stopping mid cycle, sometimes it would go again, other times you had to give it a little tap and it would go again; I noticed the angled clips on the back so it wasn't that. I cleaned out the pins on the anti-pinch, which seemed to help, but it still does it sometimes. Also I've never noticed that flap inside that is held in place by the black lock on the back. I'll also try bending the tabs out as well see if that helps. That anti-pinch is a really bad design so old fashioned and nasty they ought to redesign that, it collects a lot of dirt in there really quickly as well because it is right in the firing line of the disposal hole when cycling.

    There is a fresh Litter Robot 4 announcement today. I have not had the opportunity to try the product as it has not been publicly released. There is a 2:30pm live event release. www.litter-robot.com/whisker-live.html

    You are not supposed to put the unit that close to a wall.

    These things are a complete load of shit. Had nothing but trouble since day 1. Finally had enough and will be attempting to send it back under warranty.

    I don't see how this saves any more time than taking 30 seconds to clean a litter box out once a week...

    I have 7 cats & work 8+ hours most days. There's no time to keep up with 12 litter boxes. So Litter Robot was the answer. I would definitely buy it again.

    What a pansy. I need to wear gloves. Haven’t heard of washing your hands?
