    What you said at 3:49 to 4:04 exactly happened to me and I got my Inverter burnt. I had a PWM charge controller. I was charging my Litime 100ah battery. As soon as my battery was full, I guess the BMS shut down the battery, and that totally confused the charge controller and did not know what voltage the system is. It just automatically brought in and output the 36V that my panel is rated for. It burnt my 12v Inverter immediately. I figured out few days later. And this video just confirmed my theory. I have since gotten a better charge controller and indeed it is better to set the system battery voltage yourself and not allow the controller to do auto detect

I live in a northern climate, so the very similar HQST 60A solar charge controller is what I like better, because it has low-temp charging protection. This is why I love my Ecoflow portable power station. I can easily monitor the whole system right from my room. But portable power stations can be sometimes pricy. Do you have a budget battery option that you can recommend that has Bluetooth BMS inbuilt apart the Sun Fun Kits battery. Doesnt look like I have heard the name of that battery before. There is an E02 error flash that comes up everytime my battery has fully charged to 100% and it wouldnt stop until I disconnect my solar panel. More like my battery BMS switches off my battery once the battery is full and that signals an error to the controller. I thought this happens only to cheap PWM controller. Do you have any workaround with this? The error light would start to flash once the battery is full, volts would jump upwards on the controller and charging would stop. The controller would basically reset itself and try to start charging again. And then few seconds later, E02 error comes up again

  • @BradCagle

    @BradCagle

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes the solution is to lower your charging voltage. It's your battery going into protect mode because one or more cells is getting too high. For example if you have a 12v LiFePO4 battery, and have the charger set to 14.4v or 14.6v, then go down to 14.2v, or 14.4v respectively. Keep lowering by .1 or .2 until the problem goes away. Don't worry about charging to a lower voltage, you'll still get fully charged. Also keep in mind this is not a problem with the charger, it's actually the cell balance of your battery, and it may actually improve over time, you may be able to raise the voltage later if the balance improves. This is common, as most batteries I review will not charge to the full 14.6v, usually they will hit 14.2v . If you look at Victron's defaults, it's 14.2v, which is smart because they know people are going to hit this problem frequently at 14.4v, and 14.6v. Hope that helps!
