I think they look really cool when they get etiolated . I know it's not good for them , but they're cute that way . I saw where one KZreadr has made a pot with several different species. Some are getting too tall and some are growing kinda sideways. But they look cool that way to me . I guess someone should call the plant protection agency on me 😂. Thanks for the video. My BF ordered me some from Micro Landcape Design . They came a couple days ago and I'm gonna pot them up in pumice later. They're all so beautiful and healthy looking 😊

I have always been told that when it comes to lithops, moisture is the enemy (for the most part). I’ve had 4 dime-sized lithops in a good sized terracotta pot for 1 month now and have yet to water them. I figured they probably wouldn’t be watered until spring, maybe. I am so confused about their care!

You have to learn to read your plants. Baby lithops or those less than 1 year need more water when they are young and growing. They don’t follow the same growth patterns and typically split more than a couple times. Adult lithops, have a more routine growing season therefore, it depends on the season and what the plant looks like. If it starts shriveling then it needs water. It also depends on the soil and pot that you have. Terra-cotta pots hold moisture more than plastic or ceramic pots. Gritty mix holds more moisture than pure pumice. Just like any plant they do need water for their roots to stay alive. Not ever watering a lithop will end up in the root base dying. Again though you have to watch the plant. I am still learning with adult lithops. I find it is easier to understand the plants that have been grown from seed rather than those who I acquire as adults.

So the growing months again are from October to February. You want to decrease your watering and possibly no water at all. No water at all when they are splitting and new leaves are showing.

These pots are WAY too short for Lithops, which develop long tap roots, so they like to grow in clusters but in taller pots.

Yes they are small for larger lithops but I have found growing them from seeds they seem to work well. I will have to transplant them once they are older. I plan on transplanting after a year at minimum. I will also likely transfer the older lithops at that time as well. For now they seem to be doing great. Thanks!

The Jade vine is really called a Trailing Jade vs. the Jade plant that is more of a plant/ tree look.

I don't think that green stuff is mold. I looks like algae or moss.
