One of the greatest pleasures for people who like all forms of Opeth is sticking all their albums on one big playlist.

Those 'AAAAHH's are just a record of Mikael Akerfeld stumping his toe on his amp.

I really enjoyed this format Jim, and while I've not been a huge Opeth fan, I gotta say they are definitely growing on me. Keep up the great content. Also, I'd like to recommend something similar to this format with The Mars Volta album 'Frances the Mute.' It's one of their early albums and most certainly a standout.

And the monologue in Dignity says something like: "At the turning of a year, many people experience a sense of melancholy At the thought of that which will never return. To others it's a moment of expectation At the possibility of conquering the new. Others re-experience worry before a change , Which means uncertainly and possibly degradation. All these moods are explainable by their own. Someone said the other day that we live in the age of the great break-up."

That's quite some work you put in this. Very nice. Saw Opeth live this summer. They are as fantastic live as they sound on album.

Great start to the album. Lotta Heritage-era Opeth vibes in this one.

I completely love this album and just watching you enjoy Opeth brings me so much joy. When you listened to All Things Will Pass you had the same reaction as me, esp when the outro starts. The most beautiful outro ever.

Best new-Opeth album. I actually prefer it in Swedish. The beginning of heart in hand dialogue says: "It's deplorable. Bleh!" "Who the hell are you?"

so, who's this Trex? (OK, OK I predate them). Hm. listening.... listening... Jim, hows about doing a Monthly Roundup (or such) of new stuff with snippets and why its good? ...still listening... definitely some early prog elements (and some Beatles / Stg.Pepper laughter??) and a nod to SW. Who mixed this? OK thats over. Pretty; pleasant. But no Tool (as yet) - next!

I love this album, been listening to it a lot. Doesn't quite reach the new Tool, but it's still my favorite Opeth album. I'm glad that I got the Swedish version, Mikael did say it was how it was meant to be listened to, and I agree.

in cauda venenum > fear inoculum, pick any song from lateralus or 10000 days and probably is better than the whole fear inoculum, i dont remember the last time i listen to fear inoculum, but i have listen to lateralus and 10000 days more the last few days, With in cauda venenum i was dissapointed at the first listen to it, but now i just cant stop, listen to it almost every day, but hey, cool if you like the new tool more than the new opeth, nothing wrong with that xd

I started with the English and I actually prefer that one, even though I understand Swedish. I'm going back and forth, but I find myself putting on the English version more. But I was surprised that a lot of the meaning didn't literally translate over to English. Guess MÅ had to choose flow over meaning.

Nah, if you actually listen to them, esp this album, it's pretty darn heavy. True rock. I don't limit myself and divide Opeth into old/new. I just love ICV and I don't need to compare them to their old stuff. I love both old and new.

Dog Save You. This is AMAZING music. What do you want them to be, AC/DC with every album sounding exactly like MAYH? Opeth grows and evolves. Like the Universe.
