This album is everything, she was so sassy on her songwriting

This album was the last good pop/rock album. After that, pop changed drastically and embraced electronic. It’s a classic.

Every Katy Perry album has a deluxe version, don’t miss out.

Fingerprints is one if Katy's most underrated (and unknown) songs. It's one of my favorites from her.

Lost is probably my favorite. One of the most emotional imo, especially at the bridge.

The chorus to Fingerprints reminds me SO MUCH of Paramore and I'm obsessed with it.

I was in high-school when this album came out and have a very distinct memory of going to the mall after school to buy it after hearing I Kissed a Girl on the radio all the time. I *loved* it so much lol and though the actual CD has long disappeared, I still have the case in a drawer somewhere.

Fun fact: One of the Boys isn't her debut album, but her debut major label album, and her unofficial 5th album. Before it she had released Katy Hudson, a Christian pop rock album in 2001 and then recorded 2 more albums that were eventually shelved and an album with the Matrix that was eventually cancelled as well, so One of the Boys is a really important album for Katy not just because she was finally entering the mainstream, but also because some songs from her unreleased albums made their way to this album, including Fingerprints, which is actually taken from her 4th unreleased album that was supposed to have the same title. So yea, Fingerprints is the last song not just because it's lyrically clever, but also because it's like a statement, she finally made it after seven years and she's here to stay (which she did).

"Thinking Of You" is my favorite KP song still to this day. The only one of her songs to give me chills to the point of tears! Just watch the music video, it really ties it together!

As a gay, I thought Ur So Gay was genius lyrically and hilarious. It’s a silly song but clever. Same for the video 😌 It’s one of those songs that I think you need to have a good sense of humor to ‘understand’ and not get easily offended which now a days...YIKES...the people who had an ‘issue’ with it ironically were usually straight lol

actually, Katy wrote this song about her metrosexual ex as you need context to actually understand what she is talking about but many people as you can tell make their own personal meaning/assumptions about what the song is talking about without any form what so ever of research of the origin of the song as a gay man is one of my most favorite songs from Katy perry mostly due to I listened to it as a child daily lol

Fun reaction! I love this album. Also love the 2000s pop-punk energy some of the songs have. "Lost" is one of my favourites - it's not your typical ballad but the bridge and the way it leads into the final chorus is awesome. Looking forward to the other album reactions :-)

I listened this album a-little after it first came out. I still have it actually and jam out to it. Lowkey loved One of the Boys when I was in the preteen stage. I think it was cause I loved how the song went. Overall favorite...either Thinking Of You or Hot N Cold.
