dark paradise is about a boyfriend that died. this is what makes us girls is about lana's troubled teenage years. she drank too much and got into so much trouble with her friends, that her parents sent her away to boarding school, hence the line "they were the only friends i ever had, we got into trouble and when stuff got bad, i got sent away, i was waving on the train platform, crying 'cause i know i'm never coming back."

Lana is so uniquely her own artist, that's why it's interesting to hear her music.
I am jealous. I wish I could listen to Lana album for the first time again. And the best part is - no matter where you are in your life, what is going on, you are younger or older - there will be always song that you can relate to, it will always move you. She's poetry.
I hope you really like her discography, every album has a different vibe
Dark paradise - The song is thought by fans to be written about Del Rey's past lover K and his death, although this is not definitely confirmed. There are some themes in the track that can provide evidence to this theory, though. The song contains references to Del Rey's love of someone who has passed away, and her desire to join him.
Taylor loves lana. She also acknowledged lana in her billboard woman of the year speech how lana was slandered severely by critics in the beginning of her career but yet rose to success despite the double standards in the industry.

I was in a Discord voice chat with my sister and I literally told her "I GTG CAITLIN JUST REACTED TO LANA AFTER WE HAVE BEEN HARASSING HER" and left to watch this. I am so excited
1 - born to die (4:02) 2 - off to the races (6:03) 3 - blue jeans (8:37) 4 - video games (10:28) 5 - diet mountain dew (12:37) 6 - national anthem (13:53) 7 - dark paradise (15:18) 8 - radio (16:44) 9 - Carmen (18:27) 10 - million dollar man (19:44) 11 - summertime sadness (20:45) 12 - this is what makes us girls (21:21) 13 - without you (22:36) 14 - lolita (23:37) 15 - lucky ones (24:52)
the "louder" part in the intro of born to die many people actually don't notice it even in the fandom, in the beginning she he says louder she says "who me?" but at the end of the song he says it and she doesn't respond... meaning she basically died.

It''s very unfortunate that Cola isn't included in that album. I would have loved to see her reaction to the legendary first line of that song. Same goes for Ride and its monologue. Body Electric, Bel Air and Ultraviolence are also classicals, I think. But every of Lana's songs is so special that you'd have to hear it once in your life.
