Thats because pop songs are a great blank canvas to work with, get a beast metal singer for instance, pellek here on youtube, have them make a pop song metal and magical things happen.

As a fan of both Metal and 80s pop hits, I dig this.

1. It WAS Roxette who performed "Listen to Your Heart" first back in 1988. It was the second single from the duo's second studio album, Look Sharp! 2. Neither Heart nor Roxette were metal bands, much less "p***y sissy" metal bands. Heart was an American rock band that got its start in 1973 and has always been fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson when they were together, and Roxette was a pop duo from Sweden that's been active since 1986. The only metal band here is Ascension and this cover they'd performed and recorded of Roxette's original song. 3. How is this song "p***y sissy" metal? What, too much substance for your liking? Not enough profanity, blasphemy, or flagrant sexuality? I'm sorry, but not all music needs that kind of content to be enjoyable. In fact, I don't know about anyone else here, but I find that kind of material to be nothing more than glorified noise pollution that tries way too hard to be disturbing, and should I ever hear it on my radio, I'll be sure to either a) change the station or b) turn the doggone thing off and pop in a CD or my iPod instead.

Dustin M. Weber Don't like the vocals. He doesn't even touch Marie's ancles. I like metal covers of pop songs in general, but I just don't see the added value in this particular cover. To me it sounds worse than the original on most fronts (it's clearly a better guitarist but once again, doesn't really bring anything to the song that felt missing before). And a adding some double bass and sweep picking does not mean more "substance"... The song feels less emotional and just more flat than the original. IMO that is removing substance :/

He might be hard in his oppinion, but maybe he lacks some profficiency in knowing power metal from symphony from rock etc. It's happening to people wie are not listening to other genres and orther groups beside THE ONE AND ONLY...

Roxette's original version is a very emotional song which suits adaption to Metal!

Heartwarming, dedicating such an awesome cover to a loving friend, couldn't have made him more proud. This cover is just amazing, great guitar work, although it was a bit off at the beginning it worked well and the rest of the song was awesome, and that final scream at the end was just pure extacy with the solo.

God bless you, one of the best cover ever, I feel that you play this song with your Heart. You Rules guys!

Saw them live as supporting act for the swedish power metal band Axenstar in London. Unfortunately only very few people were there, but these guys rock live even better than in their studio version. I can just recommend to listen to their other songs and try to see them live. They've definitely got the potential for something huge!!!

Yeah, one of the staples of Power Metal (the genre of music that this band performs) is falsetto and high vocals. Listen to "Highlander" by Lost Horizon and go to 10:37 in the song and behold the kind of vocals that blow away stars.
