Lisle Oil filter wrench review. It saved me from a lot of work!

After wrestling with an oil filter for a couple hours, I resorted to going through the Summit Racing catalog for a solution. I brought home 2 tools but only needed 1. Lisle to the rescue. I don't know why it's an import car filter, it worked perfectly on a Pontiac. My most difficult oil filter removal ever. Have a story to share? Put it in the comments below. Final words? Hand tighten!

Took me two trips to Autozone, one return and kept two tools for future use. Tears under that Rav4 still remains.

Changing oil in 1966 corvette with a spin on oil filter. Could not find the oil filter wrench. Got an old telephone cord and a small block of wood

Glad I watched this video! I tried all different kinds of tools, even the screwdriver through the filter method, but that didn't work. Was thinking I was going to have to pay to have the vehicle towed since I tore up the filter with the screwdriver. This gripped onto the distorted filter and using a breaker bar, was able to finally break the filter free. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!

I’ve found that it sometimes helps (if you have room) to tap the top of the oil filter up near where it connects with a hammer (or anything that you can hit it with) as you attempt to turn it.

There is a couple of manufacturers of slip joint pliers , channel- lock brand are the priciest but have good sharp teeth.

Use/attach "Exhaust Clamp U-bolt" to the body of filter. Make sure it has enough thread bar length so that we can attach wrench hole (any wrench you prefer) to the thread part, and push/pull the thread bar using wrench to open the oil filter. Here one 4-inch Exhaust Clamp U-bolt costs USD $ 1. Sorry for bad English.

It was a winner - thanks for the share, after 5 vids, your device, Lisle Import Car Oil Filter Wrench from my local Adv Auto Prts str was a winner. I needed a breaker Bar but it came off easier than I thought after trying other methods... Breaker was huge, no good with it,

Been working on cars 25 years. Chevy silverado 5.3 little oil filter tucked beside the oil pan. Twisted up like a knot. Oh what do I do now. I had one of those but it would never open up enough to work. As a last resort I tried it and as the filter was crushed IT WORKED!!! I think I pulled a muscle but it's off.

This tool is the best to remove filters. They are approx $10-20 cdn. After using many oil filter removal tools this by far best.

I like the Lisle big range filter strap wrench the best. It works great on all sizes. Only problem is it dints the can.

First time I had the filter stuck issue. Tried the standard wrench, then pipe wrench then another wrench. The filter got a big dent. After seeing this video tried the Lisle 63600. Wasn't sure it will work but it did. Thanks for the helpful video.

I wasted about 3 hours struggling with a stuck oil filter. I picked up a Lisle 63600 and had that stuck oil filter removed in less than 10 minutes!

Them are great I got mine at walmart it has never failed me. You'd think it would slip but somehow it always catches. People over tighten oil filters all the time they only need to be hand tight. Not hand tight as in big burly man giving it everything you got with both hands. Just use one hand and give about 70-80% of the beans you can manage. You can always tighten it later if it leaks. And take it easy on the drain plug just a light snug with your average 3/8" ratchet is enough

seems like the filters come off a bit easier if the filter is warm and silicone grease on the gaskets seems to prevent sticking better than oil.

I had a friend recommend large channel locks for oil filters, and it worked. Except you need the right size channel locks in my opinion.
