Liquid gold | Carte Blanche | M-Net

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯.
Traded on the black market, it’s highly lucrative. From diesel skimming to tanker hijackings and petrol depot robberies: over the years, Carte Blanche has investigated multiple criminal networks fuelling the illicit trade in what's known as liquid gold. But as old schemes are exposed, criminals evolve. Now fuel spiking - blending diesel with cheaper ingredients, often paraffin - has taken off on an industrial level. It’s a criminal MO affecting every South African and costing the country millions of every day.  After several months investigating these illicit operations, we uncover an elaborate cross-border tax fraud scheme.

Solution: Every truck that goes to Mozambique for fuel import should declare 60000 litres. If they declare anything less than that or the weigh bridge is broken, they should still be taxed for the amount of 60000 litres of fuel. LOOPHOLE CLOSED.

How did our country get to this point. There are scammers, criminals, gangsters, cartels, druglords, fraudsters, racketeers, money launderers and thiefs, you name it in every square inch of the land. Whenever I have to buy or sell a product or service, I have to scrutinize its authenticity, the seller's/buyer's credibility, and carry out various verifications on information. Usually, things are not as they seem. Unfortunately, one always finds out the hard way. That's why I have decided to follow this channel.

He gets a fine. That's the beauty about fuel fraud. Often very hard to prove unless there's a serious trend of under declaring. He will be fined 100% of what he under declared or the load goes to auction. No one ever goes to jail for these crimes.
