There's another video (link is included in my comment) of a young lion who, while eating a buffalo that they had just killed, the young lion literally got his head stuck inside the dead buffalo's butt (rectum). Lions always start eating their kill in the more tender parts of the prey's body, like the belly, groin area and the anal area (yuk, lol) because the skin is easier to tear. The young lion at some point stuck it's head up into the buffalo's anal cavity, but couldn't pull its head back out. I was laughing so hard, I cried, lmao. Reportedly, later on, 2 crew members who stayed behind to see what was going to happen, reported that some lions (same pride, most likely) came back later and ate/tore apart more of the buffalo's abdominal/ribcage area and the young lion was able to get out of the buffalo's body that way. This is why lion family are so intriguing to watch! They are full of personalities, characters and social behaviors just like human! They have a lot of "emotion" that are reflected on their acts and body languages. Needless to say, they are handsome beautiful and majestic!

Absolutely Not...you always come late after the hunt...I left my babies behind so I can assist the hubbies...I worked all day...fed and babysat my babies, took care of hubbies...than looked to prepare a meal...you Mary... don't have kids and are not pregnant...took you hours again to put your make up on and come..lol No Mary...not this time!

Update on the lions featured here: The male lions here are the Matshapiri coalition, the two females who squabble with the one lioness(the last one to sneak in the kill next to the male) are the Sparta/Eyrfield pride (this is the pride from which the infamous Mapogo male lion coalition came from), and finally the last lioness is the Matshapiri lone lioness who was tagging along with the two males. One of the Matshapiri males(with the mohawk) died due to injuries/broken foot. The Sparta/Eyrfield pride is down to 2 adult females and 3 cubs (this was a large pride before). The Matshapiri lone lioness has not been spotted by the various game lodges in sabi sands for a while.

when the fighting started, strange how one of the males seemed to attack his own pride's female and then had a go at the other female and male. Almost as if he was pissed off with them all for ruining his meal!

That buffalo is alive but he'll never shit right again... Those buffalo don't know how much "herd" power they really possess.

This video exemplifies how our society works ! They had the buffalo ready for the taking by working together but they failed to rationalize this because they are animals. We as humans need to rationalize that things get done in a beneficial manner for the greater good if we work together. Unfortunately, we don't follow this rational form of thinking and are just like these "animals in the wild" That was the first thing that popped in my head when seeing this. Great video Kruger! From what I get from it. The lone lioness is not from the pride that got the kill, and the female from the pride did not want her there.
