I'm 35 and I've heard him numerous times throughout my child-young adult-adulthood, but I never get over how immense his influence is. He's a LEGEND. Love you Lionel!

Love Lionel Richie! I have his greatest hits CD and there’s not a bad song on there. Love his ballads, his voice. A true American treasure.

The Commodores were the super funk bands of the pre disco era along with Earth Wind and Fire and and Kool and the Gang.( And many many more....) Who doesn't remember ( back in the 70s)getting up early on Saturday mornings to watch SOULTRAIN??? TheSooooooooul Train!!! And watching in awe.... 👀) ( You can still watch them in archive videos) The Jackson Five and The Supremes were icons... But those bands I mentioned were household names as well!! Congratulations to Mr. Lionel Ritchie for his recognition....And THANK YOU SIR!! "Easy like SUNDAY MORNING" 🎵 🌅 .....

Oh my gosh, Lionel was the musical backdrop of my coming-of-age years. He couldn't write or sing a bad song. "Hello" takes me down a nostalgia road that just tugs at my heart. Love this guy!

He's a wonderful talent, and seems like a very decent human being.

Saw him and The Commodores at the Omaha Civic Arena in 76 or 77 while I was in the USAF. I'm no stranger to rock shows but I have to say that was a SHOW right there. Thoroughly entertaining for two and half hours.

Tuskegee is a beautiful little college town. George Washington Carver taught agriculture there and farmers from all over the South went there, seeking his advice. The town is full of educated people, who encourage youth to better themselves through education. Wonderful clean town full of history.

Lionel Richie- what a talented artist. Stuck on You, and Hello are two of my favorites. If I ever bumped into him, I’d tell him that my parents have loved his music, for as long as they can remember.

This brought me so much joy! This man’s music IS my childhood! I feel safe and secure when I listen to it! It’s like a security blanket if you will and a key to my happiest moments as a child! Thank you, Lionel

I LOVE Lionel Richie!! If I could ever see him in concert I’d be weak in the knees. He’s gentleman, hardworking, immensely talented, totally kind…you just don’t find too many like him. He’s an American treasure.

Saw him twice in concert when I was in high school. Still think of my old high school flame when I hear "You Are" and "Running with the Night". Good times.

Neat bit of trivia that the Commodores opened for the Jackson 5. Should have followed with the ground-breaking "We are the World" collaboration! But Lionel s playbook of hits is so vast it couldn't be showcased in a short clip. I salute you!

Such a nice judge with a smooth as silk voice.

I was born in 1958 so I grew up with the Commodores, and Lionel Ritchie. I have loved all of his music. But seeing him as a judge on American Idol over the years has truly allowed me to see the great man within. He has such a beautiful and kind soul, which has made me love him even more. I look forward to new music from him. Keep singing and shining onward, Lionel!!!

Such a humble man still after all that success and all he's been thrugh in life. Of course my favorite song will always be "Penny Lover". .

South Texas. KTSA (AM) out of San Antonio . My high school years. Lionel Ritchie. Marvin Gaye. Hall and Oates. Those songs are the soundtrack of my formative years. That voice. Those songs. Whew!

Lionel first went solo in 1981 after the success of writing and producing Kenny Rogers’ “Lady” and he and Diana Ross’ duet “Endless Love”. His first solo album had the hits “Truly”, “You Are”, and “My Love”. A then unknown Richard Marx was one of the background vocalists on his first album as well.

@@AndrewVOdom That's an unknown factor. Allegations, lacking proof, are invalid. Lionel Ritchie had knee surgery several years ago after an injury, but no proof of any cosmetics surgery.
