The last time I saw Ronaldo being man-marked in a game was back in 2008 when he was at United. Messi has always been man-marked even into his 30's. This guy is one of the finest playmakers of all time he doesn't need to score for you to feel his impact in a game. the fact that he was still able to score as many goals as C. Ronaldo is just amazing. Comparing him to C. Ronaldo was just a forced debate.

Played about as well as he could’ve given the circumstances. Looking back he’s just playing way too deep. He pops up in deep positions for club often but he’s basically a midfielder here. His best moments came when he’s near the edge of the box but most of the time receiving the ball he’s 40-50 yards away from goal. Sokratis did pretty well against him though.

What a match, totally underrated performance, only because he didn't score a goal...

He had brilliant moments here and there his dribbling was good this game. He actually played better than I remembered, but I think Greece were Argentinas toughest opponent in the group stage by far, Greece had a lot of solid players they didn’t make it easy for Messi
