Expected nothing less from childhood videos of the greatest of all time tbh. He’s always been like that

Messi had growth hormone deficiency. It's why he's smaller than everyone else, he wasn't growing right because he lacked the normal levels of growth hormones that other kids have. It meant he needed treatment and it eventually became a requirement for whatever club would sign him, since his dad struggled to pay it himself. He tried out at River Plate (Buenos Aires) and after a trial they immediately offered to sign him and pay for his treatment, but Newell's (his club at the time in his hometown of Rosario) didn't let him to leave to a rival club and denied him an immediate exit. FC Barcelona came soon after and Newell's didn't obstruct things then. Messi went to Barcelona, joined their academy - La Masia - and had treatment for his deficiency from age 12 until 14. He was able to grow to the size he would've been normally. It's a beautiful story, to grow up with such an obstacle and still be able to shine like this due to pure talent.
